Victoria Shoes marks 110-years since its 1915 foundation

Victoria ShoesWith the most humble of beginnings, Victoria Shoes’ founder made a pair of shoes for his wife, Victoria, back in 1915 in La Rioja, Northern Spain. This love story captivated the people of Spain, with the brand becoming a homegrown sensation across the country, to then launching internationally in 2004.

Fast forward to 2025, Victoria Shoes exports more than 75% of production to over 50 countries, including the UK. So popular, British high-street giants such as Marks & Spencer, Schuh, Oliver Bonas, and The White Company have all tapped Victoria Shoes, stocking the Spanish footwear brand both in-store and online.

Victoria Shoes produces its range of footwear – from classic Spanish canvas plimsols to trainers – in Spain, in its home of La Rioja. Using its factory from the 50s with modern technologies, Victoria Shoes is committed to innovation but remain true to traditional manufacturing methods. Did you know, during WW2 Victoria Shoes struggled to source natural quality rubber for its soles, therefore it had to get creative, using instead vehicle tyres during this period. To mask the chemical smell, Victoria Shoes infused the rubber with a strawberry scent and to this day, it still does! The strawberry is heavily affiliated with Victoria – open the shoe box, and the sweet scent of nostalgic 90s strawberry-ness hits you!

The hero style for Victoria Shoes is their Berlin range. A classic rounded sneaker, featuring in every season, whether it be suede, corduroy, or the trending block colour of that season. Perhaps you’ve spotted the ‘V’ logo on either side of the shoe? Well, Victoria is the original V footwear brand, using this motif since 1977, with all the legal documents to prove that they’re the true V.

‘Dear World’ is a campaign Victoria Shoes is passionate about. With the worry of the fashion industry being a major polluter, Victoria Shoes stays true to its roots, traditionally producing its sneakers, by hand, one by one ‘because being environmentally friendly is not an option for us at Victoria Shoes, it’s our way of doing things from the word ‘go’’. ‘Dear World’ ensures Victoria holds itself to the highest standards, using organic cottons and sustainable and recycled materials, not just for product, but for packaging, internally, and within its facilities, too.

It’s 110-years of consistency that’s got Victoria Shoes to where it is today. Staying true to who it is, built from a romantic gesture from husband to wife, Victoria Shoes continues its steady and global growth.
