ViolifeViolife, the UK’s leading plant-based alternative to cheese, is rewriting the rules of dairy-free with the launch of its latest product: Supreme Cheddarton. The groundbreaking plant-based alternative to cheddar cheese is set to transform the plant-based alternative to cheddar cheese market, by providing consumers with the first alternative that’s a source of protein and contains 30% less fat than dairy cheddar.

Available to purchase now in Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Waitrose, Supreme Cheddarton 200g will be rolling out across Asda stores from 1st July and in Morrisons from 16th July, RRP £2.95.

Crafted from premium plant-based ingredients, Supreme Cheddarton delivers the flavour and texture cheddar-lovers crave, while aligning with evolving consumer preferences to switch to dairy-free alternatives.

Designed to meet the UK’s enduring love for traditional cheddar, this rich and crumbly plant-based innovation offers an indulgent taste without compromise. Created for those who crave depth of flavour, Supreme Cheddarton offers a rich, mature taste with a perfectly balanced crumbly yet creamy texture. It also melts beautifully, meaning it’s perfect for a host of summer dishes from BBQs and burgers, to nachos or when crumbled over a vibrant salad.

The first plant-based alternative to cheddar cheese that is a good source of protein AND 30% less fat than dairy cheddar2, it’s perfect for those with dietary preferences or restrictions. It is also free from the top 14 allergens—including dairy, gluten, and nuts—while remaining free from artificial preservatives, non-GMO, and fortified with vitamin B12.

“This is a breakthrough moment for plant-based alternatives to cheese,” says Monica Bordin, head of Violife global brand. “With Supreme Cheddarton, we’re combining rich flavour, crave-worthy texture, and real nutritional benefits — all without compromise.”

“Our mission is to provide consumers with seamless, great-tasting plant-based options that don’t compromise on texture or flavour. Supreme Cheddarton is the result of extensive research and development, with consumer preferences at its core, offering a rich, crumbly, and indulgent alternative to dairy cheddar that is a good source of protein and 30% less fat than dairy cheddar¹. As category leaders, we continue to expand plant-based choices for retailers and food service providers with a strong innovation pipeline designed to meet evolving consumer demands.”
