Chapel Down is pleased to announce that its award-winning Chapel Down Bacchus white wine will be served in Upper Class cabins across Virgin Atlantic’s entire fleet, starting 1st May 2025.
The partnership is a natural fit between two British brands known for quality and innovation. It also reflects the growing demand for English wine internationally, as producers like Chapel Down gain recognition for crafting distinctive, premium wines that resonate with global audiences.
Upper Class passengers flying on Virgin Atlantic’s long-haul routes from Heathrow to North America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Caribbean will now have the opportunity to enjoy the wine as part of their elevated inflight experience. Renowned for its innovative approach and curated food and drink offering, Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class cabins deliver a distinctly British sense of style and hospitality to a global audience.
Produced in the Garden of England using fruit sourced from vineyards across Kent, Chapel Down Bacchus is a crisp, fresh and aromatic white wine with intense aromas of elderflower, citrus peel and freshly cut grass, followed by a long, refreshing palate. The 2023 vintage was awarded Silver medals at both the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards 2024 and Wine GB Awards 2024.
Tom Hepworth-Bond, sales director at Chapel Down, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Virgin Atlantic to serve our Chapel Down Bacchus to guests as they travel across the globe. With a large number of international fliers on board, this is a powerful opportunity to showcase the exceptional quality of English wine to a discerning and influential audience. It’s also a proud moment for our industry, which continues to build global recognition and momentum.”
Shiada Drysdale, beverage lead at Virgin Atlantic, added: “We’re thrilled to partner with Chapel Down to bring the Chapel Down Bacchus white wine to our guests in Upper Class. Chapel Down Bacchus is one of the finest examples of English white wine, and we’re excited for our customers to enjoy the elevated in-flight dining experience to enjoy and indulge, along with our deliciously different inflight menu, delivered with our signature Virgin Atlantic flair.”
This latest listing forms part of Chapel Down’s growing focus on export and global travel retail, with the brand now available in 35 UK travel hubs, including London Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, and Eurotunnel, and exported to 15 international markets, including the United States and Scandinavia. Earlier this month, the wine producer announced a new partnership with Jackson Family Wines to expand its distribution in the US.
