Visit London, the city’s official visitor guide, has opened its first shop on the corner of Russell Street and Bow Street in Covent Garden. Visitors to the shop can purchase tickets to West End shows, bus and walking tours, iconic attractions and hidden gems.
Expert London guides will be on the shopfloor advising visitors on the best attractions, shows and activities to book during their trip to London. There will also be a range of merchandise and gifts available to purchase from talented London creators and artists: including prints, greetings cards, souvenirs, clothing and accessories.
This includes items from the London Made Me Retail Development programme. Now in its third year, the initiative brings together creatives, makers and artists from the Mayor of London’s Creative Enterprise Zones to learn the ropes of high street retail before building and trading in their own collective retail store.
The shop will be open from 28th October for four weeks, from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm seven days a week.
Simon McCaugherty, director of consumer marketing and growth at Visit London, commented: “As London’s official visitor guide, we’ve been a gateway to the city’s attractions through digital channels for years. We know that many visitors like to plan most of their trip online, but our research shows many don’t actually book experiences until they arrive at their destination.
The Visit London shop will provide a convenient, central London location, with London experts to help visitors make the most out of their trip. Our knowledgeable staff will allow visitors to uncover new and surprising experiences they might not ordinarily have found, with tailored recommendations for every visitor.”
