Visualsoft steps into physical retail with launch of Shopify POS offering

Matthew Eley appointed retail product lead as agency champions connected commerce

Leading commerce provider Visualsoft has made its first move into bricks-and-mortar retail, expanding its services to include Shopify POS and strengthening its commitment to helping brands bridge the gap between online and in-store, bringing its learnings and experience of online to the physical world.

The new focus on unified commerce is being led by Matthew Eley, who has been appointed as the agency’s first retail product lead. With a background in digital retail and a deep understanding of how shoppers behave across different channels, Matthew is now leading Visualsoft’s work to support clients with Shopify POS – from installation and hardware to workflows and integration.

“Retail has changed. Shoppers don’t think in channels – they just expect things to work. Whether it’s online or in-store, the experience needs to be joined up and seamless,” said Chris Fletcher, CEO of Visualsoft. “This move is something we’ve been building towards for a while, and Matthew’s the right person to bring it to life. We’re excited to help retailers create smarter, more connected journeys.”

Shopify POS brings powerful features that make that connection possible – including real-time stock sync, unified customer profiles, and flexible checkout options. It’s all designed to help retailers deliver better experiences, without the tech headaches.

To support the rollout, Visualsoft has created a dedicated demo space at its HQ in Stockton-on-Tees where brands can get hands-on with the system and see the benefits for themselves.

Eley said: “The barriers between online and offline are fading fast. More than ever, retailers need tools that help them work as one business, not two separate teams or systems. That’s what this is all about – giving brands the tools and support to connect everything behind the scenes so it works better for their customers.”

The agency isn’t stopping there. More hires are already in the pipeline, including a new innovation-focused role joining later this month, with further team expansion expected as the service develops.

This is the first of several updates to come from Visualsoft as it rolls out a series of moves around connected retail and unified commerce. A full launch of the POS offering and deeper insight into the team’s thinking will follow over the summer.
