wagamamaAreas, a global leader in food & beverage and travel retail, is expanding its presence in the UK through Areas UK with the opening today of a new wagamama restaurant at Extra MSA’s Cobham Services, its latest service station opening following Beaconsfield.

The new 80-cover restaurant, located at Cobham Services between Junctions 9 and 10 on the M25, brings wagamama’s fresh, Asian-inspired menu to millions of motorists and passengers, offering a high-quality dining option for those on the go. Open daily from 7am to 9pm, the restaurant’s menu features beloved wagamama classics including ramens, curries, noodles, bao buns and more.

The opening builds on the launch of wagamama at Extra MSA’s Beaconsfield Services (M40 J2), the first service station location in the partnership, and forms part of the continued expansion of Areas UK and wagamama’s successful partnership across UK travel environments, including Birmingham Airport.

Jonathan Knight, CEO of Areas UK, said:  “We’re pleased to open wagamama at Cobham Services, building on our first motorway services opening at Beaconsfield and marking another exciting chapter in our long-standing partnership with the brand. Motorists are increasingly looking for the same quality and choice when they’re on the road as they would expect elsewhere, and we’re excited to bring wagamama’s fresh, flavoursome food to millions of roadside diners.”

Francisco Neves, SVP franchise + partnerships international at wagamama, said: “We’re delighted to see wagamama continue to grow in UK travel locations, bringing our fresh, Asian inspired food to even more guests on the move. The opening at Cobham reflects our ambition to make wagamama accessible wherever our guests are travelling, offering the same quality food and distinctive brand experience they know and love. We look forward to continuing to expand our presence across UK travel environments.”

Tom Dobson, chief executive at Extra MSA, said: “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with Areas UK and wagamama and bring the much-loved brand to our customers travelling on the M25. The response to our first opening in Beaconsfield has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re confident that its high-quality fresh food offer will also be very much appreciated by those visiting Cobham services. We’re committed to go the ‘Extra mile’ and exceed the expectations of road users, and this latest opening at Cobham strengthens our exceptional range of food and drink choices available across the Extra network.”

Savills advised Extra MSA on the Beaconsfield Services and Cobham Services sites.
