Warrens Bakery continues its growth in railway station stores with the opening of a new flagship shop in London’s Liverpool Street Station.
Situated on the main concourse of the UK’s busiest railway station with a footfall of 94.4 million, Warrens Bakery will serve customers with its exceptional and affordable range of renowned Cornish pasties, artisan baked goods and freshly brewed hot drinks. This new location follows the success of their railway station stores in Slough, Basingstoke, Cardiff and Bath. The Liverpool Street Station bakery is the company’s first London travel site as it looks to expand further in this area in the UK’s capital city.
The coffee at the new London location is a world class offering, thanks to a recent partnership with UK roastery experts Bridge Coffee. The Liverpool Street Station store has a custom-branded Café Racer coffee machine of the highest specification, designed to keep up with the busiest service environments. Warrens Bakery has selected Bridge Coffee’s medium hand roasted Wild Meadow blend for customers which is 100% certified, helping to maintain the highest environmental and conservation standard.
Launching during the festive season, travellers and commuters at the new Liverpool Street Station shop will also be able to try their recently launched Christmas menu, including a Turkey and Cranberry version of the bakery’s renowned hand-crimped pasty and artisan pastries.
Warrens Bakery was established on the cobbled streets of St. Just in Cornwall when two Cornish families, the Warrens and the Harveys, united in marriage in 1860 to share their love for baking and brought together a host of artisan baking skills. Over 160 years later, it now has 45 UK bakery stores and offers a contemporary, inviting space bringing Liverpool Street commuters some of the most innovative bakery products to enjoy on their journey.
Warren Bakery’s CEO Mark Sullivan comments, “Our railway station stores in Bath, Basingstoke, Slough and Cardiff are popular amongst commuters and travellers, so we’re excited to grow further in this area by opening a flagship shop in the UK’s busiest railway station. Our plan is to expand our presence in other London travel locations.”
Katie Anderson, Head of Travel at Warrens Bakery adds, “This is quite a journey for us, from the streets of 1860 Penzance to Liverpool Street Station in 2025. Our focus has always been on quality and choice, and we’re delighted to introduce people to our famous hand-crimped pasties, delicious baked goods and exciting new collaboration with roasted coffee experts Bridge Coffee”.
Hamish Kiernan, Commercial Director at Network Rail, says, “We’re so pleased to welcome Warrens Bakery to London Liverpool Street – our busiest station. When it comes to sales, bakery is one of our fastest growing categories, and we know that passengers at Liverpool Street want quick service and convenient foods to eat on the go, without compromising on high quality. Warrens Bakery taps into all of this and will be a welcome addition to the food and drink line up at our destination station.”
