Lidl launches new loyalty rewards scheme giving shoppers points on every shop

Points make possibilities! Helping shoppers take their savings up a notch, Lidl has announced the launch of Lidl Plus Points – a brand-new rewards system based on customer feedback which is designed to give shoppers the freedom to choose how they spend their points, from free or discounted products, to money off vouchers to spend in-store.

What’s more, to mark the occasion, Lidl has teamed up with none other than Liberty X to release ‘Just a Lidl…’, a remix of the band’s classic track that spotlights the ‘Lidl bit more’ shoppers can secure via the Lidl Plus app – from points and personalised coupons to access to Lidl Pay and Lidl & Go.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic original, the new track comes complete with its own music video, showcasing the quartet taking to the aisles, cane in hand, to pull off the ultimate Lidl Plus heist. Packed with star-studded cameos, the nostalgic anthem – which can be streamed HERE – is sure to send pulses soaring and have shoppers strutting their stuff through the middle aisle.

Earning shoppers points on every transaction which can be spent across 100s of products, Lidl Plus Points will be available to collect via the app from 5th May. Whether redeemed for money-off coupons, which can be used to slash the price of everything from the weekly shop to a middle aisle jaunt, or swapped for one of the hundreds of items available in the Lidl Plus app, shoppers can discover even more ways to win at the checkout.

Helping shoppers hit the ground running, Lidl is supercharging savings by gifting new and existing customers 100 free Points, instantly redeemable for rewards such as cheese twists, bananas, or chocolate digestives via the Lidl Plus app. Additionally, with double points available on all fruit items between 5th and 22nd May, shoppers can collect points twice as fast while stocking up on fresh favorites and reap the rewards.

Louise Weise, chief customer officer at Lidl GB, said: “At Lidl, our core purpose has always been to deliver value to our customers, providing a seamless shopping experience without compromising on quality or the savings shoppers know and love.

“Everything we do is driven by a deep understanding of customer needs and a commitment to exceeding their expectations. We’ve done a big piece of work to listen to customers and it was clear from the feedback that they wanted more freedom to decide the rewards that suit them.

“Since the launch of the Lidl Plus app, we’ve continuously offered innovative new ways for customers to enjoy their shopping experiences. From Click, Reserve, Collect to Lidl Pay and personalised coupons on customers favourite items, Lidl Points is the natural evolution of this journey – giving our customers the freedom to choose their own rewards.”

Lidl Plus Points will be available to collect and redeem via the Lidl Plus app from 5th May, with double points available to collect on all fruit items between the 5th and 22nd May.
