Wyse London has appointed Kara Groves as the brand’s new chief executive officer. In this role, Groves will be responsible for driving the brand’s direct-to-consumer business in the UK whilst also looking to expand further in the US market.
Through a commercial and operational lens, Groves brings over 15 years of executive experience having held senior roles with premium/lifestyle brands who have excelled by having a strong affinity with their customer’s needs.
Groves proudly held the role of chief commercial officer at Joules for over seven years until 2018, spearheading a threefold increase in turnover through an expansion of the lifestyle brand’s product offering across many routes to market (including the US).
Following her stint at Joules, Groves was appointed chief operating officer at Mint Velvet where she was tasked with reshaping the brand’s store portfolio and international expansion.
Most recently, Groves held the role of chief executive officer at B-Corp baby brand Bambino Mio, focusing on the purpose driven brand’s repositioning and was responsible for reinvigorating growth and sales pipelines.
Groves’s appointment follows the departure of Suzy Slavid from the company earlier this year. Slavid will remain a non-executive director of Wyse London.
“I’m delighted to be joining Wyse London as CEO. What I find most rewarding is working with founder-led businesses – Marielle is a real inspiration and brings energy and life to so many creative aspects of the brand as well as a laser-focused attention to detail. Our mindset will remain customer centric – we deeply understand our loyal customer base and will continue to cultivate grow and evolve with her needs. We like to push boundaries and elevate wherever we can. We are looking forward to expanding our presence both here in the UK and in the US marke,” said Groves.
