2025 Fragrance Trends
Growth in Gourmand with unexpected edibles, florals are back in bloom and cannabis makes a heady entrance to fine fragrance.

2025 fragrance trend predictions Fragrance Du Bois2024 was an explosive year for the fragrance industry… think mood boosting, AI, clean scents and super sweet. Did someone say Cherry too?! With expectations to generate £47.3 billion in revenue globally – a 2.75% increase from 2023, fragrance now accounts for 9.3% of all sales in the beauty sector and is set to be the leading category with a 7% growth rate by 2028.

With so much excitement for scent, we spoke to Jonnie Swarbrick, creative director of luxury fragrance house Fragrance Du Bois about the trends that are expected to dominate in 2025.

Please find below the top 5 fragrance trends prediction for 2025, and please do take time to review Jonnie’s full predictions on the attached document, you won’t be disappointed!

What will the biggest fragrance trends be for 2025?

JS: “In 2025, the fragrance industry will blend tradition with innovation, embracing trends that push boundaries while respecting heritage. Musk and oud will dominate, with a shift towards sheer, natural-smelling interpretations of these classic materials. Neo-gourmands will continue to rise, introducing unexpected edible notes like popcorn and blending them with floral and woody accords. Florals will make a strong comeback, evolving into fresher, multifaceted compositions, while savoury scents will gain traction with their unique and unconventional profiles. This mix of the familiar and the avant-garde will define the year ahead.”

Savour the moment with grown up gourmands…

JS: “Gourmand fragrances will continue to captivate, with new interpretations keeping the category fresh and exciting. Expect to see savoury notes like roasted nuts adding complexity, as well as creamy, dairy-inspired nuances bringing a comforting nostalgia. Exotic spices such as saffron and cardamom will further enhance the gourmand palette, offering warmth and depth. These emerging trends reflect the modern gourmand—a balance of indulgence and sophistication that appeals to evolving consumer tastes.”

  • Minuit et Demi: Embodies indulgence with caramel, coffee, and vanilla, aligning with the evolving gourmand category.
  • Santal Complet: Its creamy sandalwood and coconut notes evoke a milky, comforting gourmand sensation.
  • Voyage à Paris: A modern gourmand woody fragrance with Oak Fusion for a refined sweetness.

Back in Bloom… A floral revival…

JS: “The resurgence of florals in 2025 will focus on reimagining classic blooms in new and innovative ways. Rose will be presented in fresher, more natural forms, shedding its traditional powdery image. Jasmine and tuberose will take on lighter, transparent qualities, appealing to modern sensibilities. Exotic blossoms like ylang-ylang and frangipani will bring tropical and solar dimensions, aligning with escapism trends. Overall, florals will evolve into dewy, airy profiles that feel contemporary and versatile, offering a modern take on timeless elegance.”

  • Brume du Matin: A bright, airy floral celebrating jasmine and morning dew freshness, aligning with the trend of fresh, natural florals.
  • Sirène: A bold floral-gourmand hybrid with a fruity cherry top and an incense heart, offering a contemporary twist on florals.
  • Oud Rose Intense: A romantic floral with desert-inspired rose and a warm, woody dry-down for modern sophistication.

Savoury scents with Cannabis in the spotlight…

JS: “Savoury scents incorporate unconventional, food-inspired notes that lean away from sweetness and towards aromatic or umami elements. These might include accords inspired by herbs, spices, or even smoked woods. Their appeal lies in their ability to evoke complex, multi-sensory experiences, providing a distinctive signature for the wearer. As consumers continue to seek originality in their fragrances, savoury scents offer a bold and intriguing alternative to traditional sweet or floral perfumes.”

  • Cannabis Blue: Features a unique cannabis accord, paired with nutmeg and green spices, embodying the savoury concept.

Innovation in Oud…

JS: “Oud will continue to evolve within the luxury category, with a focus on innovation and sustainability. Lighter interpretations of oud will emerge, creating airy yet rich profiles that appeal to a broader audience. Blends that pair oud with contrasting elements like florals or fresher notes will also gain popularity, offering a modern twist on this traditional material. Ethical sourcing and transparency in oud production will further enhance its appeal, aligning with the values of the contemporary luxury consumer.”

  • Oud Jaune Intense: Combines creamy florals with a subtle oud base for a lighter, more approachable take.
  • Oud Bleu Intense: Balances oud with refreshing citrus and balsamic notes for a unique, airy profile.
  • Sahraa: A traditional yet evolving oud fragrance, blending woody and spicy elements for depth and sophistication.
