Sainsbury’s reveals the festive food set to shape celebrations in 2026

Sainsbury’s The countdown to Christmas is on and Sainsbury’s is giving a first taste of the food and drink set to define celebrations this year.

With over 330 new festive food and drink launches arriving this season, Sainsbury’s Christmas line-up is packed with inspiration for every occasion, from casual get-togethers with friends to family feasts with all the trimmings.

This year’s range reflects a growing appetite for global flavours, chef-inspired dishes, fuss-free entertaining and standout centrepieces. From pescatarian and meat-free mains, to convenient, freezer-friendly options that can be prepared ahead of time and an array of premium, slow cooked dishes, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Taste the Difference Discovery also makes its Christmas debut this year, with more than 60 dishes and drinks included in the range, such as Ready-to-Cook Lobster Tails with Garlic Butter, Mushroom, Gruyère & Chestnut Filo Cups and Hebridean Salmon & Scottish Langoustine En Croûtes.

Created with exceptional ingredients, expert technique and bold flavour combinations at their heart, each of the Discovery dishes is designed to add a greater sense of occasion to Christmas entertaining and give hosts new ways to impress guests at home.

James Campbell, director of product & innovation at Sainsbury’s, says: “At Christmas, there are some traditions that simply shouldn’t change, like gathering around the table, sharing great food and creating memorable moments with family and friends. Each year, we look for new ways to make those moments feel special and this Christmas we’re even more focused on fantastic quality, distinctive flavours and effortless entertaining, helping hosts serve something spectacular with less time spent in the kitchen.”

Sainsbury’s Christmas Food to Order is also now available for pre-order, giving hosts the opportunity to get ahead on festive planning. The range includes standout dishes such as a Discovery Hebridean Salmon & Lobster Wellington, a Discovery Lobster & Black Tiger Prawn Sharing Cocktail and a Garlic & Mature Cheddar Camembert Wreath, making entertaining easier without compromising on quality.

Whether customers are hosting a traditional Christmas dinner or catering for festive celebrations, Sainsbury’s Christmas collection is there help take the hard work out of hosting, leaving more time to spend with friends, family over delicious dishes worth talking about.
