The Perfume Shop predicts top 10 fragrances for Christmas

In the lead up to the festive season, perfume continues to be a popular gifting option. The Perfume Shop, the UK’s largest fragrance retailer, have predicted their top 10 fragrances that will be sure to sell out this Christmas!

It was reported last year that The Perfume Shop sold a record 1.77M bottles between 28th November and 24th December. Not only that, but the retailer saw that their customers were still keen to make the most of the last-minute rush deals, where they saw sales up +3% in 2022 vs 2021 in the final week leading up to Christmas, and online sales of gift sets saw a 26% increase in the final full week before Christmas. This year, the retailer is expected to see sales even greater than last year.

When it comes to the most popular scents for the festive season, the underlying favourites such as Dior Sauvage and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle have made it to this year’s list for 2023, however there are some newer scents that have made their way into the top 10 as part of the retailers’ best sellers.

The top 10 predicted best selling scents are:

  1. Dior Sauvage
  2. Mugler Alien
  3. Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
  4. Yves Saint Laurent MYSLF
  5. Jean Paul Gaultier, Gaultier Divine
  6. Rabanne 1 Million
  7. Burberry Goddess
  8. Prada Paradoxe Intense
  9. Rabanne Fame & Phantom Le Parfum
  10. HugoBoss,BossBottledElixir

Cathy Newman, The Perfume Shop’s marketing & customer experience director, commented: “We’re so pleased to see that some of the classic fragrances such as Rabanne and Dior continue to be the most popular with our customers which is why they’ve made it into the top 10 list. With sales continuing to grow since launch, we’ve seen newer scents such as Burberry Goddess and Prada Paradoxe become firm favourites ahead of the festive season.

“We knew that last year was going to be a tough one for many of our customers in the current climate and we’re expecting to see the same again this year as we continue with the cost of living crisis. We have lots of fragrance deals on offer in the lead up to Christmas day with our amazing gift sets, stocking fillers etc that we know our customers will love!

“Not only that, we do also have our price freeze lines which have hundreds of fragrances on offer with up to 40% off the RRP price. So there are lots to choose from for yourself or a loved one. We can’t wait to see the overall sales results for this year vs last year.”
