he leading Portuguese wine brand in the UK, Porta 6, today announces the launch of a Winemaker’s Selection White Wine in Tesco stores nationwide and online. Porta 6 Winemaker’s Selection White Wine has an ABV of 12.5% and an RRP of £8.25. It joins the iconic Porta 6 range of great tasting red, white, rosé and sparkling wines, which are well-priced and widely available from all six of the major UK supermarkets, as well as Majestic.

Porta 6 Winemaker’s Selection White Wine is produced in the Lisbon region of Portugal. The vineyards are located to the northwest of Lisbon, close to the ocean and coastal breeze moderate temperatures, resulting in fresh and balanced wines.

Porta 6 Winemaker’s Selection White Wine is perfect for spring and summer alfresco meals. It is bright and aromatic, bursting with fresh tropical and citrus lime fruit flavours. Porta 6 Winemaker’s Selection White Wine is soft and easy to enjoy, making it an ideal pairing for fish, seafood, pasta, chicken, salads and soft cheeses.

Porta 6 Winemaker, Mauro Azóia, has crafted this delicious blend from a combination of local grape varietals, Arinto (30%) and Viosinho (25%) and international favourites, Viognier (25%) and Chardonnay (20%).

Philip Critchley, Associate Sales Director at Guy Anderson Wines says, “Although the red wines of Lisbon are hugely popular worldwide, the region has always had a special reputation for white wines within Portugal. When tasting this new, fruity, easy-drinking blend, it’s easy to see why. It should be a big hit with Tesco customers this summer.”

The Porta 6 wine bottle has a unique label featuring a classic Lisbon image: a relaxed scene of one of the city’s famous yellow trams. Street artist Hauke Vagt, who painted the label, originated in Germany, and settled in Lisbon in the early ‘90s. He fell in love with the city and its laid-back lifestyle. Hauke sold his paintings to tourists outside the Castle of St. George, never imagining this particular image would find itself on wine shelves in almost every corner of the world.

Vintage: 2023

Porta 6 Winemaker’s Selection White Wine ABV: 12.5%. RRP: £8.25. Available from Tesco

Porta 6 is exclusively imported to the UK by Guy Anderson Wines.
