TortillaTortilla, Europe’s leading fast-casual Mexican restaurant group, is partnering with Beyond Meat, a leader in plant-based meat, to launch the Beyond Steak Chimichurri Burrito. This exciting new menu item will be available in select Tortilla restaurants across the UK from 2nd January 2025 until the 6th February 2025, while stocks last.

Designed to give consumers a delicious plant-based option in Veganuary, the Beyond Steak Chimichurri Burrito will appeal to meat-lovers, flexitarians and vegetarians alike. Available for a limited time only, it’s a flavourful addition to the Tortilla menu.

The Beyond Steak Chimichurri Burrito features juicy, tender, and award-winning Beyond Steak. This is paired with a new limited edition Chimichurri Mayo, Mexican rice, pinto beans, hand-smashed guac and fresh sweetcorn salsa, pickled pink onions, jalapenos, and delicately crushed tortilla chips – all wrapped tightly in a warm tortilla.  It’s a burrito so delicious, it’s worth cheating on your meat for.

As one of Beyond Meat’s biggest innovations to date, Beyond Steak is already receiving rave reviews for its high protein and low saturated fat benefits. It was awarded the highest accolade – Platinum – at the 2024 Plant-Based Excellence Awards, and the highest distinction – GOLD – at the Casual Dining Awards 2023 – with the judges lauding Beyond Steak as “a sustainable gamechanger”.

For consumers looking to create their own burrito, bowl, or taco meal this Veganuary, Beyond Steak will also be available as part of Tortilla’s ‘Build Your Own’ menu. Tortilla’s menu is fully customisable – with thousands of flavour combinations to try.

This latest announcement builds on Tortilla’s appointment of a new food director earlier this year and strategic approach, ‘Tortilla’s vital 5’.  The new approach aims to revitalise its core menu and limited time offers.

James Garland, food director at Tortilla, said: “We’re proud to partner with Beyond Meat to be the first fast-casual restaurant group in the UK to launch Beyond Steak. Our new Beyond Steak Chimichurri Burrito is packed with juicy, meaty flavour, offering a plant-based option so delicious, the whole nation will be cheating on meat this Veganuary!”

Steve Parsons, regional sales manager, foodservice – United Kingdom at Beyond Meat, added: “We’re delighted to bring our award-winning Beyond Steak to Tortilla. With 70% of their existing menu already plant-based*, we’re excited to inspire even more people to try plant-based options this Veganuary. Together, we’re offering a delicious choice that doesn’t compromise on taste, a balanced lifestyle or the environment.”
