Eight Lands is an organic spirits brand based out of Speyside at a family-run distillery, Glenrinnes. Positioned at the base on Ben Rinnes Mountain, it produces high quality vodka and gin in small batches with the fresh spring water that rolls off the mountain. Alongside their core Gin and Vodka range, they also have their innovative Producer Series with their Speyside Sloe Gin and Barrel-Aged Organic Vodka.
GIN COCKTAIL RECIPES
Clover Club Recipe
A take on the bitter-sweet cocktail from the team at Eight Lands, that is a beautiful pink colour and perfect to make at home with Eight Lands’ Organic Speyside Gin. The second shake without ice really gives it the foamy head and makes it look like a professionally made cocktail.
50ml Eight Lands Organic Speyside Gin
15ml Dry Vermouth
15ml Freshly squeezed lemon juice
10ml Sugar syrup
15ml of egg white (or replace with vegan foamer)
15ml Chambord or other raspberry liqueur (8x raspberries would also give a brighter coloured and less boozy cocktail!)
Method
Chill a coupette or Nick & Nora glass and shake all the ingredients over ice. Strain and then dry shake without the ice and strain into the chilled glass.
French 75 Recipe
A delicious and luxurious style of champagne cocktail. The French 75 has many suggested origins, but it was made famous at Harry’s Bar in Paris in the 1920’s. We thought we’d give Harry, who hailed from Dundee, a version using gin from his Scottish roots.
Eight Lands Organic Gin 35ml
Fresh Lemon Juice 15ml
Sugar Syrup 10ml
Brut Champagne
Lemon triangle garnish
Method
Get a champagne coupe. Stir the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup over ice to chill and strain into the coupe. Top with Champagne and garnish with the lemon triangle.
