MFG EV Power celebrates World EV Day

World EV Day

Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, is marking a milestone year for its EV Power charging network, which continues to expand at pace across the country.

In 2026 alone, MFG has opened 243 new ultra-rapid charging bays across 39 sites nationwide, taking its total network to over 1450 ultra-rapid chargers – more than 10% of the UK’s entire rapid and ultra-rapid charging infrastructure.

MFG estimates its network has powered more than 250 million electric miles so far this year, as drivers increasingly turn to EV Power for fast, reliable charging on both everyday journeys and longer trips.

The milestone comes as EV adoption accelerates nationally. There are now more than 2.15 million fully electric cars on UK roads, with electric vehicles accounting for over a quarter of new car registrations so far this year. MFG’s continued investment, part of a wider £400 million commitment to EV infrastructure, is helping to remove one of the biggest barriers to adoption, confidence in charging availability.

MFG’s nationwide network

MFG EV Power stands at the forefront of the UK’s electric vehicle charging revolution, operating a fully nationwide network. Our charging bays deliver power at 150kW, 300kW, and up to 400kW, enabling drivers to add up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

As part of our commitment to accessibility and convenience, MFG has installed rapid EV charging bays across nearly 300 Morrisons supermarkets, and many of our sites are co-located with leading retail and food-to-go brands, including Greggs, Pret A Manger, Burger King, Subway, and Costa.

This enables drivers to relax, grab a bite, or pick up essentials while they charge.

MFG is investing over £400 million into its EV charging network in line with the UK’s ambitious climate goals and the ongoing transformation towards cleaner, greener road transportation.

MFG remains committed to its long-term EV strategy, targeting over 3,000 ultra-rapid chargers across 500 sites by 2030, as part of its mission to build one of the UK’s largest and most reliable charging networks

Martin Symes, EV director, Motor Fuel Group, said: “World EV Day is a great moment to reflect on MFG EV Power’s achievements this year. We’ve opened 243 new ultra-rapid charging bays, powered millions of electric miles, and cut our prices for drivers this summer, all while EV ownership in the UK continues to increase. We’re proud to be delivering a nationwide network, powering the nation’s journeys today, and building the infrastructure it needs for tomorrow.”
