Tesco launches Who Gives A Crap household range

TescoWho Gives A Crap launches its full household range in Tesco today, marking a huge milestone for the eco-friendly brand that first launched in the UK as an online only toilet paper brand in 2017.

The eco-friendly range will feature bamboo and recycled toilet paper, kitchen roll, and tissues, along with recycled bin bags, dog poo bags, compostable food waste bags, and sponge cloths. It is available across 247 Tesco stores and online across the UK, bringing more eco-friendly household products into the mainstream.

In store shoppers will see a bold and playful branded bay – impossible to miss – featuring the full Who Gives A Crap product offering, including the signature colourfully wrapped toilet paper. The full length shelf has vibrant signage and aisle fins highlighting the brand’s mission of donating 50% of its profits to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) causes – to ensure everyone in the world has access to clean water and a toilet. The display is designed to grab attention and make it easier for shoppers to make a sustainable choice. This is also linked to Who Gives A Crap’s recent ‘feel good toilet paper’ campaign.

To support the launch into Tesco, Who Gives A Crap has developed a new Mega Length toilet roll in response to consumer demand for lower price points in retail. The new rolls are still over 50% longer than standard rolls, while maintaining the same soft, strong, and eco-friendly quality the brand is known for. Unlike most toilet paper brands, Who Gives A Crap uses 100% recycled materials and bamboo in its toilet paper, significantly reducing environmental impact and offering customers greater choice.

Emily Kraftman, chief commercial officer at Who Gives A Crap, said: “Landing on the shelves in the UK’s biggest supermarket is a landmark moment for us and another huge step forwards for eco-friendly products being available in the mainstream. We’re bringing our full range of household products to Tesco – from our much-loved loo roll, to tissues and bin bags – making it easier for customers to choose products that not only look good but do good. With 50% of our profits funding access to clean water and toilets worldwide, every product sold helps push that impact further.”

Launched in 2012 in Australia, Who Gives A Crap’s key mission is to ensure that everyone has access to clean water and a toilet. This is a massive global issue, with 2 billion people still lacking access to a toilet, which is why Who Gives A Crap continues to donate 50% of its profits to WASH non-profits worldwide. To date, Who Gives A Crap has donated over £9 million to partners that provide access to improved WASH services around the world.
