Tropicana partners with AI startup Cogna to transform juice production in its main manufacturing site

Tropicana Cogna is partnering with Tropicana Brands Group to transform how it plans and produces juice at its Zeebrugge facility. The collaboration focuses on driving greater efficiency, flexibility, and insight across production planning—laying the groundwork for a more agile and sustainable operation.

The challenge

As Tropicana Brands Group (TBG) continues to innovate in the chilled beverage category, the company’s production network must support a broader range of blends and packaging formats. At Zeebrugge, the company’s main manufacturing site in Europe, manual planning methods were limiting output and slowing the introduction of new products.

The team wanted to gain a clearer view of capacity, respond faster to change, and make better decisions about where to invest next.

The partnership

Working together, Cogna and TBG are building a data-driven foundation for production planning—one that helps teams understand their true blending capacity and adapt in real time to shifting priorities.

This partnership will enable TBG to:

  • Increase efficiency by uncovering hidden production potential within existing operations.
  • Accelerate innovation by freeing capacity to bring new juice blends to market faster.
  • Enhance resilience by enabling smarter, data-backed responses to operational change.
  • Strengthen long-term planning through clearer visibility of performance and constraints.

The impact

By digitising its approach to production planning, TBG is creating the conditions for continuous improvement across its network. The initiative is another example of the company’s unrivaled commitment to innovation – helping deliver on its mission to “nourish and delight one sip at a time.”

Cogna is proud to support Tropicana Brands Group in building a more efficient, responsive, and insight-led production model.

“We’re proud to work alongside Tropicana Brands Group to bring AI into the heart of production planning,” said Ben Peters, co-founder and CEO at Cogna.

“Together, we’re showing how intelligent tools can help manufacturers unlock capacity, improve resilience, and plan with greater confidence.”

“From the start, Cogna have shown a deep understanding of our business and the challenges we face,” said Tony Brownlee COO Europe at Tropicana Brands Group. “We’re confident this partnership will bring real value and are excited to see what we can achieve together.”
