JCDecaux UKIn a milestone moment, JCDecaux UK has installed its 350th public access defibrillator, marking another major step in the company’s roll-out of life-saving street furniture across the UK. Unveiled outside JCDecaux UK’s central London office in Paddington, the 350th installation highlights the continued growth of JCDecaux’s Communication Hub network – an initiative designed to enhance everyday life in cities.

Now available across 35 cities, including Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Southampton, each Communication Hub combines an 86-inch digital advertising screen with a suite of valuable public services such as free Wi-Fi, landline calls, USB charging and public access defibrillators that could save hundreds of lives.

Phil Drye, Chief Commercial Development Officer at JCDecaux UK, said, “Reaching our 350th defibrillator is a proud moment for JCDecaux UK, The Community Heartbeat Trust and supportive local authorities who have helped make this network possible. It’s a tangible example of how Out-of-Home advertising can fund infrastructure that truly gives back – connecting brands with people through high-quality digital screen advertising that supports communities in ways that really matter.”

The defibrillators are part of JCDecaux UK’s ongoing partnership with the Community Heartbeat Trust charity, working together to bring public access defibrillators to the UK’s busiest high streets.

A spokesperson from The Community Heartbeat Trust said, “Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone at any time, and after calling 999 and performing CPR, using a defibrillator offers the best chance to save a life. In fact, early defibrillation can triple a victim’s chance of survival. Our partnership with JCDecaux UK means more people across more cities now have rapid access to this life-saving equipment. Easy to use, with clear voice instructions, every new installation is a potential life saved – a remarkable example of how our collaboration can make a real difference.”

Launched in 2019, JCDecaux’s life-saving network underlines the power of Out-of-Home media to serve both brands and the public good – funding essential public services through high-quality digital screens that provide local and national advertisers with a powerful communications channel, while giving back to the communities where people live, work and travel.
