Harry Ramsden’s Group opens second Harry’s Hut location at Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon

Harry Ramsden’s Group Harry Ramsden’s Group is bringing its compact Harry’s Hut format to Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon, opening on Monday 19 October ahead of an official Grand Opening celebration on Friday 23 October.

Harry’s Hut is the brand’s smaller-footprint format, designed to bring the Harry Ramsden’s experience to high-footfall destinations while keeping the quality, craft and signature menu the brand is known for, including hand-battered fish and chips prepared in beef dripping and freshly prepared chips. The name is a deliberate nod to the brand’s origins: Harry Ramsden began serving fish and chips from a ten-foot wooden hut in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, in 1928.

The new site sits within Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon, one of the UK’s leading outlet shopping destinations, housed in the restored Great Western Railway works and home to over 90 designer and high-street brands alongside a line-up of cafés and restaurants. Harry Ramsden’s adds its heritage to the centre’s food and drink offer. The opening follows Harry’s Hut at Tower Bridge in August 2026.

To mark the opening, Harry Ramsden’s will take its signature Fish & Chips back to 1928 prices (7p) for the first 100 customers on Grand Opening Day, as a nod to the original hut. The celebration will also include a Spin the Wheel merchandise giveaway, face painting for children and product sampling, with local partnerships building awareness in the run-up.

Harry Ramsden’s joins a strong and growing line-up of food and drink signings at Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon, as Global Mutual continues to develop a broader, more dynamic offer alongside the outlet’s established retail mix.

The opening forms part of the Group’s plan to grow Harry Ramsden’s across high-traffic, high-visibility locations throughout the UK, whether on the motorway, on the high street, or on the go.

James Fleming, chief executive oficer at Harry Ramsden’s Group said: “Harry’s Hut gives us a way to take Harry Ramsden’s into high-footfall destinations in a compact, flexible format, without compromising on the quality and craft the brand is known for. Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon is the kind of high-footfall destination where the format can really work, and a strong partner to open with. Almost a century on from the original hut in Guiseley, this opening reinforces our ability to adapt and stay relevant.”

Nicky Lovell, head of outlets and retail business development at Global Mutual, said: “Harry Ramsden’s is a strong signing for Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon. It is part of the continued investment and change taking place across the destination, bringing an iconic British brand and a distinctive offer to our food and drink line-up.”
