Aldi is bringing the taste of Greece home with the launch of its Gyros Kits — a tasty fakeaway for a purse-friendly £3.19.
A popular street food staple in Greece, gyros (pronounced “yee-ros”), typically features marinated meat, fries, and sauces wrapped in warm flatbread.
Now, Aldi is making it easier than ever for shoppers to recreate this TikTok-famous dish at home by relaunching its popular Chicken Gyros Kit as well as two brand-new flavours for summer — Doner Kebab and Lamb Kofta.
Winner winner, is it chicken for dinner? Aldi’s Chicken Gyros Kit (£3.19, 380g) is a comfort-food classic, with chargrilled smoked chicken, seasoned fries, stone-baked flatbread, and a cooling tzatziki cucumber yoghurt sauce.
Foodies can meat their match with Aldi’s NEW Doner Kebab Gyros Kit (£3.19, 380g), featuring tender slices of roast beef with cumin, black pepper, and garlic, served with crispy fries, flatbread, and a sweet and sour pickled red chilli pepper sauce.
For a tasty combo that is mint to be, shoppers can try Aldi’s NEW Lamb Kofta Gyros Kit (£3.19, 380g). Sweet roasted lamb with notes of mint, rosemary, garlic and cracked black pepper, crispy French fries and that classic stone-baked flatbread with a roasted red pepper, tomato and garlic sauce.
Aldi’s new Gyros Kits are available in stores in the freezer aisle from 12th May.
