Asda launches an Exceptional Bone In Beef Pie for Christmas, 2024. Expecting to sell 10,000 over the festive period, it joins eight other pies in Asda’s impressive Christmas pie line-up.
NEW FOR 2024
Tapping into the ‘Retro Revival’ trend as referenced in Asda Trend Book 2024/25, where chefs are looking back for new additions to their menus as a nostalgic nod to simpler times, and with Brits eating £1billion worth of pies every year – a festive pie is an obvious choice.
Set to be the ultimate festive centrepiece, Asda’s Exceptional Handmade Bone Marrow in Beef Pie (£10) is a celebration of rich, bold flavors and exceptional craftsmanship.
Encased in a golden, flaky 40% all-butter puff pastry, it crumbles beautifully with every bite. Inside is tender, slow-cooked Aberdeen Angus beef, marinated to perfection and infused with the luxurious depth of a real beef shin bone, nestled in the centre. As the pie bakes, the bone marrow melts and releases its rich, savory juices into the filling, enhancing every bite with unparalleled flavor.
Each mouthful is complemented by sweet, caramelized onions and earthy chestnut mushrooms, creating a symphony of textures and flavors. The addition of double oak-smoked bacon lends a savory, smoky note that enhances the pie’s hearty character.
The pie is also enriched with a drizzle of Salsa Truffina, adding a hint of truffle for a touch of decadence, while a whisper of Merlot weaves through the filling – offering a subtle fruitiness and balance.
Perfect for special occasions or as an indulgent treat, this pie is a feast for the senses, delivering an unforgettable dining experience that’s both luxurious and satisfying.
Rich Harding, Asda’s Senior Innovation Chef, says “customers are looking for a luxury twist with showstopper visuals, so we incorporated the bone marrow sticking out of the top to emphasise a real sense of quality and a touch of nostalgia.“ Leaning into the ‘Sensory and Interactive’ trend, it’s designed to not only taste delicious, but to be a real talking point too!”
Weighing 1kg and priced at £10, it serves four people, working out at £2.50 per serve.
Available to buy on 17 December instore and online.
