This January, it’s time to ban boring bubbles. Whether you’re going zero-proof, sticking to your ‘Damp January’ principles, or simply sipping something delicious at home, Double Dutch believes every drink deserves taste worth talking about. Unexpected, fun taste combinations for drinks as bold and spontaneous as you are, with freshness, lightness, botanicals, aroma, experimentation – and yes, more fizz than you thought possible in a mixer! Whether you’re going “out-out” in London or mixing a low-ABV drink at home, Double Dutch has one mission: elevate your glass with bubbles that never, ever feel boring. We’re making mixers the main event.
2025 marked a decade of Double Dutch shaking up the category. Today, the brand is sold in 45+ countries and found at some of the UK’s most iconic venues: Chancery House, Soho House, The Ned, Dishoom, Hakkasan, Park Chinois, W Hotel London, Vyta Covent Garden, The Mandrake Hotel, and The National Theatre.
But behind the fizz are identical twins Raissa and Joyce – the self-confessed party animals with a serious taste obsession. Known as the ‘Tonic Twins’, you’re just as likely to see them in the bar than sitting at their desks – they live and breathe Double Dutch, and this is reflected in their passion for the craft of taste.
The twins grew up in the Netherlands but are true Londoners at heart, falling in love with the city while studying at UCL. There, a dissertation exploring how to build a taste-first mixer brand sparked the idea that became Double Dutch. Their business plan went on to win UCL’s Bright Ideas Award in 2015, securing funding, an office at the BaseKX incubator, and mentorship. The twins are now huge supporters of women in the drinks industry, launching the Double Dutch Female Bartending Scholarship in 2020: designed to support women in the drinks industry, to support, train and empower aspiring female mixologists and address gender inequality in hospitality. The now annual event attracts some of the biggest names in the business as mentors.
Their rise has been anything but ordinary:
- 2019: Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe
- 2020: Backing from the family behind Heineken
- 2024: The King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, B Corp certification
- 2025: Celebrating 10 years in the business
- 2025: Launch of a new bottle design – making Double Dutch one of the fizziest mixers on the market and a £4.5million investment.
