Morandé Wine Group, one of Chile’s most pioneering wine producers, has launched a new mid-strength cherry rosé-style wine for global markets, blending carefully crafted cherry wine with Sauvignon Blanc. The new 7% ABV cherry rosé has secured its first listing with Total Wine & More – the largest independent fine-wine retailer in the US, with more than 290 stores nationwide – where it will be sold as Belle Cherry, the first release under Morandé’s newly created Belle brand.
Crafted using fresh Chilean cherries, the new cherry rosé is smooth, fresh and juicy, with well-balanced sweetness and a distinctive pale pink hue. Intense cherry and red fruit aromas are complemented by delicate citrus and floral notes, with a slight bitterness and a touch of spice.
“We’re seeing an opportunity to offer consumers something genuinely different from traditional wine, particularly as interest in new flavours and more moderate drinking occasions continues to evolve,” said José Ignacio Bascuñán, Export Director for Europe at Morandé Wine Group. “As the world’s largest exporter of fresh cherries, Chile has an abundance of high-quality fruit, making it a natural area for us to explore through new and innovative wine styles.”
“This new cherry rosé brings together Morandé’s innovative winemaking expertise with a fresh and approachable style at a mid-strength ABV. Securing a launch listing with Total Wine & More is an exciting first step and demonstrates the potential we see for it internationally.”
In line with Morandé’s long-standing commitment to innovation-led winemaking, this new cherry rosé represents its latest boundary-pushing release. It follows the launch of El Cabernet de Ránquil 2020 last year, a rare Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from 120-year-old vines, and, earlier this year, HAX Zero – its first alcohol-free wine, crafted in the style of a traditional Cabernet Sauvignon red blend.
