Ethical hydration brand One Water has launched its first ever incentive with Sainsbury’s: a chance for five shoppers to win a month’s worth of meal deals with the retailer.
The customer simply scans a QR code to be entered into the draw. The incentive will test in 50 Sainsbury’s Local stores nationwide from today for 3 weeks with eye-catching aisle fins and will be supported on social media with a micro-influencer campaign.
One Water’s 100% recycled 500ml bottle has been listed in the Sainsbury’s meal deal since July 2024. For every bottle of water sold, a donation is made to The One Foundation, supporting clean water projects worldwide. In 2024 One Water announced that, in partnership with The One Foundation, they had reached £30 million in donations, changing the lives of over 5 million people.
Ian Spooner, brand director One Water, says: “We are excited to be partnering with Sainsbury’s for our first ever customer incentive. To be in the chiller at such a major retailer makes such a difference to our fundraising efforts and the incentive builds consumer awareness around what we do. By choosing One when you shop for your daily meal deal, you can help change lives through the provision of clean and safe water. We launched officially on social media a week ago and the uptake has been fantastic, so we can’t wait to see how our in-store push goes. More and more consumers are choosing brands with a purpose so this feels like a great time to work with Sainsbury’s on such an initiative.”
One Water was founded in 2004 by Duncan Goose, who was inspired to set up the brand after seeing a photograph in the newspaper of a young girl sitting next to a padlocked tap in Nairobi, Kenya. Other One stockists include Co-Op, Holland & Barratt, Ocado, Starbucks and World Duty Free. One was a founding UK B corp in 2015 and remains the highest scoring UK soft drinks business.
