Cointreau Maison Cointreau introduces two new ready-to-drink Margarita cans, “Cointreau Cocktail Twists”, a smart, stylish way to enjoy bar-quality Margaritas with zero effort and 100% flavour. Launching in Original Margarita and Passion Fruit Margarita, the brand once again sets out to shake up the world of cocktails.

Presented in a 125 ml slimline format at 12.5% ABV, the cans are designed for effortless convenience and made from 100% recyclable materials, underscoring Maison Cointreau’s commitment to sustainable innovation. Crafted with Tequila and carefully selected ingredients free from artificial colours or flavours, the recipes deliver the unmistakable taste of the Original Margarita, made effortlessly accessible.

The launch arrives as new research1 from Rémy Cointreau reveals that UK consumers plan to elevate their holiday drinking habits this year, with over half (59%) consuming more cocktails at home over the festive season than at any other time of year.

Crafted in the brand’s historic distillery in Angers, France, the recipes were developed by Carole Quinton, Cointreau’s Master Distiller. Each cocktail reflects the intersection of Quinton’s distillation expertise and the precision of mixology, delivering bar-quality Margaritas with zero effort and uncompromised flavours:

  • The Original Margarita offers a zesty blend of Cointreau L’Unique orange liqueur, premium Tequila, lime peel distillate, and lime juice concentrate for a clean, bright, and balanced taste.
  • The Passion Fruit Margarita combines Cointreau L’Unique, premium Tequila, lime juice from concentrate, and natural passion fruit flavour, resulting in a fragrant, well-balanced profile

    worthy of a cocktail bar.
1OnePoll Survey conducted on behalf of Rémy Cointreau from the 20th to the 28th of August

Carole Quinton, Cointreau’s master distiller comments: “In creating these RTD cocktails, I got to blend my distilling expertise with the craft of mixology. As a creator of experiences, I wanted each recipe to deliver the perfect balance, preserving the spirit of Cointreau while elevating every sip. It was about finding the right assembly of ingredients to achieve that harmony between the liqueur and its ingredients. The result is two new Margaritas that are bold, fresh, and uncompromising in quality.”

Perfect for hosting this holiday season or simple moments of at-home enjoyment, Cointreau Cocktail Twists can be sipped chilled straight from the can or poured over ice. With survey data showing a shift towards classic cocktails with nearly half (41%) of those surveyed preferring classic cocktails like Margaritas and Espresso Martinis compared to just under a quarter (23%) opting for festive serves, consumers are sure to satisfy their guest.

Clémence Gallet, Cointreau executive director, adds: “Our ready-to-drink cocktail range, now enhanced with new flavors on our classic Margarita and available in a can, is a premium expression of this consumption habit. It is designed to invite cocktail lovers to savor Cointreau at any cocktail occasion, in an elevated and convenient way”.

This launch marks another step forward in Maison Cointreau’s mission to make the perfect Margarita more accessible and foolproof through its MargaRight® philosophy: Cointreau + Tequila + Lime. For years, the brand has championed balance as the secret to an exceptional Margarita, positioning Cointreau L’Unique as the essential ingredient. With the introduction of Cocktail Twists, Cointreau reinforces this commitment even further, removing any barriers to enjoying a perfectly balanced Margarita wherever and whenever the moment calls.

The Cointreau Cocktail Twists cans are available to purchase at Waitrose or on Waitrose.com RRP £4.00per can.
