Conscious skate shoe company, Cariuma, brings back the twice sold-out vegan suede boot, in three new colourways

The OCA Therma is a boot interpretation of Cariuma’s OCA High, with an understated vibe – for those who like the classic sneaker look but want to keep warm this winter!

Cariuma’s first 100% vegan boot is made with ultra-tough vegan suede, premium faux 100% recycled shearling for warmth and ethically tapped rubber outsole for harsh winter conditions. Both styles are built to last, with a water-repellant upper crafted while using zero hazardous chemicals with an ultra-low carbon footprint.

And of course, this shoe still gives back in the traditional Cariuma way, one that also focuses on its own place in biodiversity, planting over 2M trees already. Cariuma plants two trees for every pair of shoes sold, with a programme that is totally run by its own team and is focused on more than just planting trees, but overall reforestation of the Brazilian rainforest.

Most of Cariuma’s trees are planted in the Atlantic forest biome where only 11% of their original covering is still standing. This forest is home to a large number of animals and tree species – one of the most relevant biomes to be restored when it comes to biodiversity. Cariuma is committed to having part of their trees planted in indigenous land, enhancing indigenous culture and knowledge. Around 70 indigenous people (Guarani people and Tupiniquim people) work connected to the programme.
