Costa CoffeeCosta Coffee has today (21st October 2026) opened its first-ever store in a Cineworld cinema, marking a major milestone in Costa Coffee’s collaboration with Cineworld and its continued expansion into high-footfall leisure destinations across the UK.

Located at Cineworld Ashton-under-Lyne, the store is the first to open as part of Costa Coffee’s recently announce collaboration with Cineworld, which will see Costa Coffee launch in up to 26 cinema locations nationwide.

Movie-goers can now enjoy Costa Coffee’s full range of handcrafted hot and iced beverages, including its signature Mocha Italia taste, alongside toasties and sweet snacks, whether they’re grabbing a coffee before a film or unwinding afterwards.

Designed with comfort and convenience in mind, the store features Costa Coffee’s modern store design and comfortable seating, creating the perfect place for customers to relax before or after a film.

The new store is home to a team of up to 12 baristas, including colleagues who have transitioned to Costa Coffee as part of the opening, helping to ensure familiar faces continue to serve customers and the local community.

To celebrate the new store opening, Costa Coffee and Cineworld will be bringing a weekend of celebrations to Ashton-under-Lyne on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026. Customers can enjoy complimentary Costa Coffee samples throughout the weekend, with a prize wheel on Saturday 24 October offering the chance to win a range of prizes, including Costa Coffee and Cineworld merchandise, gift cards and at-home coffee products.

Andrew Miller, Express and corporate sales director UK&I at Costa Coffee, said: “Today’s opening is a significant milestone as we bring Costa Coffee to Cineworld cinemas for the very first time. We’re delighted to open our first cinema store in Ashton-under-Lyne, giving customers another place to enjoy their favourite handcrafted drinks and food as part of a trip to the cinema. This is just the beginning of an exciting rollout that will bring Costa Coffee to movie-goers in locations across the UK.”

Tim Sparrow, retail director at Cineworld, said: “Our partnership with Costa Coffee marks an exciting new chapter for Cineworld. We pride ourselves on elevating the guest experience, from the moment you walk through the doors to when you sit back and watch the magic unfold on the big screen. The addition of Costa Coffee at Cineworld Ashton-under-Lyne is a continuation of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the cinema-going experience, and we look forward to seeing more Costa Coffee stores roll out across our cinemas in due course.”

The Ashton-under-Lyne opening is the first of many Costa Coffee stores due to launch in Cineworld cinemas, with the next location opening in Broughton Park on the 28th October 2026. Further Costa Coffee stores are scheduled to open in Cineworld cinemas across the UK, including locations in Glasgow, Sheffield and Birmingham.

The Costa Coffee store at Cineworld Ashton-under-Lyne is open from 12pm to 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 9.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
