The World’s largest sports retailer, Decathlon has launched BuyBack, a service which will enable customers to sell their old bikes back to the retailer for up to 45% of RRP.
With an estimated 1.2m unused bikes in sheds & garages across the UK, the first leg of the scheme will focus on cycles and later expand to all bit ticket items including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and rackets to save customers money and give sports gear a second life.
Following a successful launch on the continent, Decathlon has so far has refurbished 251,000 products globally. In the UK, the service is expected to refurbish 15,000 bikes a year by 2025 and there are currently 1,500 Decathlon staff trained to deliver circular services (Rentals and BuyBack).
Britain’s favourite cyclists, Jason and Dame Laura Kenny are fronting the nationwide launch of BuyBack.
