Decathlon has launched its first-ever “Middle Aisle” across its UK stores

Decathlon has launched its first-ever “Middle Aisle” across its UK & Ireland stores, website, and shopping app in a move to take on discounters and make an active lifestyle more affordable for families. The well-known feature will offer the best prices on high-quality sports products tied to seasonal moments.

The first Middle Aisle drop is available in all stores and online now, featuring Back to School essentials like school shoes, trainers, water bottles, and backpacks to help parents get ahead of the next term’s kit for their little ones. All prices are locked for six weeks to cover the entire summer holiday period from today until 30th August.

Recent data shows that almost half (45 per cent) of shoppers consider price as the most important factor for their purchase and are actively searching for budget friendly alternatives and dupes. Middle Aisles have become a familiar retail feature to attract customers, and Decathlon is making the move to ensure parents don’t have to sacrifice quality to save money on sports goods.

All Decathlon products included in the Middle Aisle Motivators range are tested to the same rigorous degree as higher-end items, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to quality and price. Third-party brands will also be available, and the hero deals for launch include:

  1. Decathlon Kids’ School Shoes 140 for £9.99 / €10.00: Originally £14.99 / €14.00 (a massive saving), these lightweight shoes are already tried, tested, and rated an impressive 4.8 out of 5 stars by over 13,700 parents.
  2. Decathlon Kids’ Playventure Yard Shoes for £14.99 / €16.00: Originally £19.99 / €20.00, featuring playground-tough synthetic leather and robust rubber soles.
  3. Adidas Kids’ Advantage Trainers for £18.99 / €20.00: Originally £25.00 / €25.00, featuring wipe-clean classic styling with a secure triple rip-tab strap fit.
  4. Quechua 0.8L Ecozen Flask for £3.99 / €4.00: Originally £5.99 / €6.00, drop-proof, shatter-resistant playground plastic with an easy one-handed quick-release cap.
  5. Adidas 27.5L Backpack for £15.99 / €16.00: Originally £24.99 / €32.00, offering huge packing space for A4 binders, books, and PE kits.

We know that keeping kids active shouldn’t come at a premium, especially with the financial pressures families are already facing around Back to School. Our Middle Aisle aims to lower the price of school essentials while maintaining our same high standards for quality and safety. The introduction of the Middle Aisle shows our commitment to making sport accessible for all, giving more people the opportunity to buy great sports products and discover the benefits of an active lifestyle as we introduce more sports and products throughout the year,” said Ross Farrington, Decathlon UK and Ireland commercial director.

How to shop:

Shoppers can now access all Middle Aisle promotional prices seamlessly across three distinct channels:

  • In-Store: Customers can head to the dedicated “Middle Aisle” zones set up at the heart of their local store. Find your nearest via decathlon.co.uk/stores (UK) or decathlon.ie/stores (Ireland).
  • Online: Browse the exact same campaign prices from home with flexible delivery options at decathlon.co.uk or decathlon.ie.
  • On the App: Download the free Decathlon App via the Apple App Store or Google Play (available in both the UK and Ireland) and get exclusive early alerts to preview incoming promotional prices before they drop.

What’s coming next?

While the products are backed by Decathlon’s full quality guarantee, these special Middle Aisle prices won’t last forever. The moment the school holidays end on 30 August, the shelves will completely reset with fresh bargains.

The Autumn savings roadmap kicks off on August 31st with a massive ‘Back to Sport’ event to get parents and kids sorted for after-school teams and local sports clubs without breaking the bank. After that, the aisle switches to bright ‘Back to Commuting’ safety gear in late September, followed by huge fitness tech drops for Black Friday, and unbeatable stocking-fillers for Christmas.

More ways to save: the ultimate value destination

Decathlon’s Middle Aisle will sit alongside Decathlon’s ongoing commitment to everyday value, acting as a permanent home alongside New Lower Price core essentials and any ongoing sales.

To unlock the absolute maximum value from the Middle Aisle and beyond, shoppers are encouraged to sign up for the free Decathlon Membership program.

Members instantly start collecting points on every single purchase – whether shopping the Middle Aisle or standard ranges – which can be converted into vouchers for future savings.

Furthermore, membership provides total peace of mind, automatically unlocking extended product warranties on eligible purchases and a hassle-free, digital receipt return policy.
