Desi Daru, the award-winning vodka brand, inspired in India, born in Britain, is proud to announce the launch of its ‘One Sip, One Day’ campaign in partnership with charity: water, a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to providing access to clean water across the world. The initiative sets out that every 25ml measure of Desi Daru Vodka will provide clean drinking water for one person for an entire day, with a full bottle providing clean water for a whole month.
The campaigns aims to directly address one of the world’s most important humanitarian challenges as today, over 700 million people around the world live without access to clean water. In India alone, millions of families face a daily struggle accessing safe drinking water, many walking miles each day just to collect it. Waterborne diseases remain a leading cause of illness. Without access to clean water, India’s education, health, and economic development are all affected. Desi Daru wants to help make a difference in their home country.
“It’s personal,” shares Mohit Singh, founder of Desi Daru. “Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by communities in India due to the lack of clean water. With Desi Daru, we always knew that we wanted to make a meaningful
impact to our home country that inspires our brand. Working with charity: water allows us to give back and ensure that every sip that our customers take contributes to a better future for someone in need.”
Desi Daru Vodka was founded by husband and wife team Mohit Singh and Aneet Kaur, British-born Indians who wanted to create an ultra-premium vodka that showcased the best of their home countries. For the initiative they will be working with charity: water on rainwater harvesting. In regions where groundwater is unsafe or scarce, rainwater harvesting offers a simple, sustainable solution. These systems provide reliable clean drinking water that meets safety standards all year round.
Founded on the principle that clean water changes everything, charity: water is a nonprofit that is known for its transparency and effectiveness. 100% of public donations go towards funding water projects, and a separate group of private donors cover the operational costs. Their model ensures that every penny goes to where it’s needed most. Since 2008, charity: water has completed over 25,000 water projects in India, impacting more than 830,000 lives. But there is still work to do, and Desi Daru are here to help.
The “One Sip, One Day” initiative means that every bottle of Desi Daru is a meaningful contribution towards solving the water crisis in India. “Our vision isn’t just to create world-class liquid,” explains Singh. “We want to make sure that we’re giving back, and trying to make the world a better place, one bottle at a time.”
Desi Daru is available to buy from Amazon for £39.94 for 70cl.
