DREAMSAKE expands major M&S listing across 504 stores nationwide

DREAMSAKE One of the world’s oldest drinks, reimagined for the modern table. DREAMSAKE is at the forefront of the shift, reimagining how sake is seen, served and shared.

Long admired for its depth and subtlety, sake has often been misunderstood in the UK, often served warm, in traditional bottles, shrouded in customer trepidation. DREAMSAKE is changing that – and a fresh new bottle reflects that ambition – championing sake in a way consumers outside of Japan can relate to: served chilled in a wine glass, paired with Japanese food.

Rapid growth reflects a cultural shift

In just a year, DREAMSAKE has landed in over 100 locations and on the shelves of top retailers including Marks & Spencer, Ocado and Whole Foods Market, as well as pouring at acclaimed restaurants such as Hakkasan, Sessions Arts Club, and Dinings. Since launching across 220 M&S stores in February as their first ever sake listing, and driven by growing consumer demand for sake, it is now rolling out to 504 from 29th April.

DREAMSAKE is also available at the Royal Albert Hall and was the selected sake at the recent Grand Sumo Tournament – a collision of ancient ritual and modern culture which returned to London for the first time in 33 years.

Born in London. Made in Japan. Crafted for everyone.

Bringing one of Japan’s most refined beverages to a new generation of consumers who appreciate quality, craftsmanship, DREAMSAKE offers a sake experience that’s transparent, accessible, and pairs excellently with food and company.

Brewed in Hyōgo, Japan, the birthplace of premium sake, it delivers exceptional quality without unnecessary barriers. Modern drinkers want context, not complexity. DREAMSAKE reframes sake not as an unattainable ritual, but as a food-first drink that is instantly accessible for shared occasions.

Made with all-natural ingredients, it’s clean by nature, and balanced by design. Sake is fermented and preserved without sulphur dioxide, allowing for a lighter, smoother taste and fewer preservative-related reactions.

With clean and expressive flavour with plenty of natural umami, it’s equally at home poured alongside takeaway sushi or in restaurants across the UK. By championing chilled service, wine glass pours and cocktail versatility, DREAMSAKE helps consumers understand how sake actually works at the table.

No specialist knowledge required, no rigid rules, just great sake.

A modern ritual for mindful drinkers

Founded in 2025 by Matt Brunault, Hector Butler, and Adam Levene, DREAMSAKE was created with the mission of bringing beautifully made Japanese sake into the heart of today’s dining culture. For the co-founders, DREAMSAKE is a drink for those who love Japanese food and culture, favour lower-ABV options, and enjoy the social rituals of eating and drinking together – with the belief that sake deserves a central place at the modern dining table as a complement to food, not a distraction from it.

More than a beverage, DREAMSAKE is leading a cultural shift. With lower ABV, clean ingredients, and culinary versatility, it positions sake as the drink of choice for a new generation seeking experiences that are both social and thoughtful.

DREAMSAKE is redefining premium, contemporary sake in the UK and beyond.
