DREAMSAKE, the pour for the modern drinker, has secured an exclusive national grocery listing with M&S, launching in 220 stores nationwide – becoming the first sake to be stocked by the retailer. The move follows strong retail momentum with Selfridges and Ocado.
Launching in M&S highlights the quality behind DREAMSAKE Daiginjo No.1 and the increasing appetite for a clean, balanced and mid-strength drink. Naturally rich in umami and low in acidity, it has subtle notes of honeydew melon and pear. DREAMSAKE feels at home in an accessible, trusted retail setting that invites more shoppers into the growing category.
In the year since their launch, the brand has 100 on and off-trade listings, including high-profile venues and Michelin-starred restaurants.
“DREAMSAKE was founded from a shared love of Japanese cuisine and a simple belief that great sake shouldn’t be limited to specialist stores or high-end restaurants. We set out to make a smooth, high-quality Daiginjo that makes sake accessible. To become the first sake on shelves at M&S is an honor. M&S has an incredible reputation for quality, and we’re proud to be part of what customers discover next.” Hector Butler, co-founder of DREAMSAKE.
Working in collaboration with premium drinks supplier, Hallgarten & Novum Wines, the listing is driven by consumer appetite for alternative pours and the increase in demand for Asian food and drink produce.
Produced in Japan and born in London with a focus on craftsmanship, quality and accessibility, DREAMSAKE is well positioned to lead the growth of sake in the UK drinks market.
