Eden helps local families in need with food donations and charity fundraising

For many, Christmas is a time when they may go without food or struggle to afford even the basics. As living costs rise and demand for support peaks in winter, a simple food donation can make a meaningful difference, offering comfort, dignity and the reassurance that the community cares.

This year, Eden is doing their bit to tackle food poverty through its Christmas campaign. “Mrs Claus’ Cookie Cabin’’ launching this weekend aims to support hundreds of locals in need, Mrs. Claus returns to the centre with her Cookie Cabin, open at weekends from Saturday 29th November to Christmas Eve, complete with a charming gingerbread-inspired makeover.

Families are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation, such as UHT milk, cooking oil or jarred sauces, and place it into Mrs. Claus’ Magic Giving Machine, which transforms each item into a gingerbread treat for children to decorate. This fun, interactive activity directly supports households who may otherwise struggle to put food on the table.

All food donations will go directly to One Can Trust, and 100% of ticket sales (£3.50 per person) will be donated to Heart of Bucks’ Together Against Poverty appeal, which provides essential one-off grants to households facing severe hardship. That means that every participant who attends Eden’s Christmas event will be supporting local families at a time they need it most.

Last Christmas, One Can Trust supported 630 people every week, half of them children, and demand this year is expected to remain just as high.

Helen Foster, food supply manager at One Can Trust, said: “Huge thanks to everyone in our local community for so generously donating items that will directly help vulnerable families and individuals in High Wycombe and surrounding towns this Christmas time.”

Eden is encouraging shoppers to donate essential food items during their visit and to secure one of the remaining festive event tickets to support both One Can Trust and Heart of Bucks this Christmas.

Tickets & Information  Tickets for the remaining Mrs. Claus Cabin are available to book via the Eden website click here.
