Fit FoodsA Lasagne Mac & Cheese ready meal has been launched by Ireland’s number one ready meal brand Fit Foods, arriving exclusively in Morrisons stores across the UK this month.

Fit Foods’ Lasagne Mac & Cheese is the first ready meal of its kind in the UK. Tapping into the growing trend for hybrid comfort foods, the innovative NPD combines two of the world’s most loved pasta dishes into one indulgent, yet balanced chilled ready meal. Lasagne Mac & Cheese layers rich, cheesy macaroni with classic lasagne-style flavours to create something entirely new for UK shoppers and pasta lovers; a mash-up of two iconic dishes, delivering ultimate comfort food with high protein, low fat and flavour credentials.

Fit Foods range of chilled ready meals balance nutrition and flavour for everyday healthy eating. With 35g of protein and just 492 kcal, Fit Foods’ Lasagne Mac & Cheese meets growing appetite for healthy ready meals that taste great and bring something new and exciting to everyday convenience.

“We love disrupting the category and Lasagne Mac & Cheese is one of our most exciting innovations yet,” says Gillian Clarke, marketing director at DMC Foods, the family-run ready meal producer that owns Fit Foods. “Both hugely popular comfort pasta dishes, combining these recipes felt natural and a great fit for our brand – it captures the fun and boldness Fit Foods is known for.”

In addition to Lasagne Mac & Cheese, two other new SKUs are joining the Fit Foods range on Morrisons shelves. Beef & Mash with Pepper Sauce and Thai Red Chicken Curry with Brown Rice are launching in the UK, both already popular choices in Ireland. These meals appeal to ready meal shoppers seeking hearty, familiar favourites and globally inspired flavours.

Fit Foods launched in the UK in September 2025 and has already shaken up the category with its range, with Salt & Chilli Chicken with Chips & Curry Sauce and Pasta Bolognese SKUs both proving popular with consumers.

Clarke commented: “Fit Foods has always been about taking the meals people already love and making them work for real life, delivering memorable flavours and balanced nutrition without the fuss. Lasagne Mac & Cheese is our most playful and innovative meal yet. Favourites like Beef & Mash with Pepper Sauce and Thai Red Chicken Curry show the breadth of our range, offering familiar recipes that shoppers can enjoy any day of the week.”

Fit Foods is part of DMC Foods, a family-run Irish manufacturer and one of the country’s largest ready meal producers, renowned for combining convenience with high-quality ingredients and bold flavours. Founded by the O’Leary family, DMC Foods produces one in every five ready meals eaten in Ireland, with Fit Foods pioneering the “everyday health” category. Its success has helped shift the Irish ready meal market from being dominated by private label to a more even split between branded and own-label meals, attracting younger and more affluent shoppers.

The introduction of Lasagne Mac & Cheese is the first time DMC Foods has launched a new SKU in Ireland and the UK simultaneously. Gillian added: “In Ireland we have launched the meal with the campaign “Genie Mac, it’s Lasagne Mac!” The phrase ‘Genie Mac!’ is a playful way of saying ‘holy moly’ when something is unexpected or exciting – it is a bit lost in translation here!”

New meals launching in Morrisons include:

  • Lasagne Mac & Cheese (RRP £4, 400g)
  • Beef & Mash with Pepper Sauce (RRP £4, 400g)
  • Thai Red Chicken Curry with Brown Rice (RRP £4, 400g)
