foodorafoodora, one of the leading delivery platforms in Europe, announces the launch of its first year-end campaign. It is live on the foodora app. This is the first time the company is offering customers a personalized, individual look at their ordering journey in 2025, alongside a country snapshot of delivery records and consumer behaviour across its six European markets. In addition, like last year, foodora dived deep into data to provide extra unique insights into delivery trends across Europe.

Hungary sets speed records, Sweden places biggest order, and Austria leading in customer loyalty and the most original New Year order

The new End Of Year data establishes new comparisons between countries and shows some shifts in what people order.  The year’s fastest recorded delivery was in Hungary, clocked at 1 minute and 1 second from a McDonald’s restaurant located in the city of Miskolc. The largest single order was €2,265from a MAX restaurant in Sweden. Delivery was most popular on the weekend, particularly Friday and Sunday. Winter and cold months like October, November, or January were the busiest months for ordering, as people got cold feet dining out and preferred the coziness of home. The most dedicated foodora PRO customer was in Austria, placing an impressive926 orders during the year. The first orders across most markets were comfort foods on January 1st around midnight, like pizza or chicken wings, but Austria recorded a unique first order: Coke and whisky!

Culinary favourites: the cheeseburger edges out pizza to claim the top spot while healthy eating is weakening this year

The most ordered cuisines are American (e.g., burgers), Italian (e.g., pizza), and Asian (e.g., sushi, pho) across Europe. The top dish overall was the cheeseburger, which has been crowned the king of the table. In contrast to strong growth last year, the increase in salad orders is weaker this year, growing by 13% compared to a 76% increase last year. When it comes to ordering late at night, the inhabitants of the capital cities in all countries are leading the way; big cities never sleep! Austrians are the most adventurous when it comes to trying new restaurants, testing an average of five this year. This is significantly more than Finns, who tested the least restaurants with an average of three.

Everyday essentials: from bananas to shampoo & other quirky trends

Core quick commerce items include essential grocery picks such as dairy products, eggs, and fruits/veggies. Shampoo remains the most popular beauty product, consistent with last year, and mixed roses are still the top choice for flower orders. The data also shows that evenings are when people order most condoms, and beer saw its most popular time being the afternoon, with Austrians ordering the highest volume of beers.

The “Last Stop” feature: a rider-centric iInnovation

The “Last Stop” feature, available on the iOS version of the rider app, allows riders to set a final delivery location closer to the place they want to finish their shift, most of the time their home. Hungarian riders have been using it the most, ahead of the Czech and Swedish riders
