Foot Locker unlocks 10,000 free studio hours for aspiring musicians with Studios For All partnership

Foot LockerFoot Locker has announced a new partnership with Studios For All, an initiative that will provide aspiring musicians facing tough challenges with access to recording and rehearsal spaces across the country.

The collaboration will see Foot Locker and Studios For All unlock 10,000 of studio hours, courtesy of Pirate Studios, for up-and-coming singers, musicians and DJs, giving them access to facilities currently out of reach to many.

Despite being one of the UK’s greatest cultural exports, access to the tools to make music is shrinking. A lack of dedicated infrastructure and arts funding means many of the next generation of talent are being left without the necessary studio environments and creative access to hone their skills and succeed. When access is given, culture moves, communities rise and stories are heard, keeping music as one of the most democratic tools for change.

Studios For All levels the playing field for talent, and the partnership with Foot Locker will allow access to rehearse and record in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. Musicians in these areas can apply to gain access to these hours by submitting an application through the Studios For All website.

The partnership allows Foot Locker to continue its commitment in showing up and supporting its communities, providing opportunities for everyone to help influence and shape all elements of sneaker culture. The studio hours with Studios For All are funded on the back of purchases of plastic bags in Foot Locker stores across the country, which is reinvested back into communities that sit at the heart of the brand’s passion points.

To celebrate the partnership, Foot Locker captured raw, unfiltered moments of music with ten aspiring musicians from Birmingham’s Positive Youth Foundation Artists and London’s Collective Beat Artists. The artists can be seen wearing products from the Foot Locker 2025 Holiday campaign, including Foot Locker exclusive silhouettes of the Nike TN, ASICS Gel NYC, Adidas Handball Spezial and New Balance 1906.

Slavka Jancikova, Foot Locker VP marketing: EMEA said: “We’re incredibly excited about the launch of Studios For All and partnering with them on this journey. Creativity should never be stifled by circumstance, so by removing barriers and expanding access to professional studios, we’re investing in and empowering the next generation of creators and helping make their voices heard.”

Neil Carter, Foot Locker VP GEO: UK & Ireland added: “Championing our amazing community has always been part of the Foot Locker DNA, so it’s incredibly important for us to be supporting grassroots talent in the UK. Hopefully, this can be the first step for allowing a range of new artists across the country to find their voice and share their unique stories with a much broader audience.”

David Borrie, Studios For All founder said: “Our mission is to level the playing field, one studio session at a time. We believe that potential should not be defined by privilege, yet we know that too many young artists are pushed out of the arts simply because they lack access to resources. We are incredibly excited to partner with Foot Locker to unlock 10,000 hours of free studio time for young people facing challenges, ensuring the next generation has the professional space to create, be heard, and build culture.”

In celebration of the partnership, Foot Locker and Studios For All will transform the flagship Birmingham store into a pop-up DJ studio and workshop space. Far from a standard showcase, the event invites shoppers to join beginner-friendly DJ workshops led by local collectives such as Positive Youth Foundation, Birmingham DJ Society and many more. To create a vibrant atmosphere in-store, the day also features sets from Pirate community DJs and live performances by local youth group MCs, highlighting the real-world impact of accessible creative spaces.

Founded in Bristol, Pirate Studios currently operates over 700 studios across the world, offering 24-hour community spaces for musicians from a wide range of disciplines.
