Grubby and Zoe join forces to bring plant-based gut healthy recipes to dinner tables nationwide

Plant-based recipe and ready meal subscription, GRUBBY and gut health science company, ZOE, have joined forces with a series of delicious plant-powered dishes to boost gut health.

From 25 June – 8 July, GRUBBY subscribers can choose from a selection of mouth-watering plant-diverse and fibre-rich meals, reviewed and approved by ZOE’s Head Nutritionist, Dr Federica Amati and the ZOE nutrition team.

The exclusive collaboration is timed to celebrate the launch of Dr Amati’s eagerly awaited publication of The Appetite Reset: How to Eat, Drink and Thrive Before, During and After GLP-1s.

The culinary campaign spans co-branded packaging, email marketing, social media and PR, bringing together GRUBBY’s chef-developed, globally inspired flavours with ZOE’s world-leading nutrition science. Each dish has been scored against ZOE’s nutritional criteria and awarded a ZOE-approved stamp, appearing on grubby.co.uk and across all campaign materials.

The first 1,250 meal boxes also include a sample of ZOE’s Daily30 – a whole plant gut health supplement, developed by Dr Amati and her team of scientists, to incrementally increase fibre and plant diversity intake.

Each Daily30 sample contains 4g of fibre and over 30 different types of vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, wholegrains, berries, mushrooms, seaweed and green tea kombucha. ZOE’s clinical trial shows that adding Daily30 to your meals supports your gut health, improves digestion, and increases energy.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE PARTNERSHIP

In The Appetite Reset, Dr Amati argues that the way to naturally regulate hunger, support metabolic health and feel better in days is not restriction, it is nourishment from the right foods. Specifically: feeding the gut microbiome with the fibre, plant diversity and quality protein that it needs to do its job.

“We know from decades of research that the dietary factors most consistently linked to longer, healthier lives are whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, fruits, vegetables and omega-3 rich foods,” says Dr Amati. “What I call the ‘new 5-a-day’ and a pillar of Daily30’s formula. The challenge has never been the science, it has been making those foods accessible and exciting to eat, week after week. That is exactly what GRUBBY and Daily30 do, with flavour, texture and whole food ingredients.”

“ZOE conducts the world’s largest gut health study, with data from over 300,000 people which consistently shows that plant diversity – specifically eating 30 different types of plants a week – is one of the most powerful levers for improving the gut microbiome.

“Only 5% of the UK adult population eats enough fibre. The average adult eats around 19g of fibre a day against the recommended 30g. A single ZOE-approved GRUBBY meal delivers up to 23g. The Hearty Chilli Bean Sweet Potato Stew hits 11 plant points in one sitting; the Crispy Curried Mango Chickpea Traybake tops out at 13.5.

“The gut microbiome responds to what we feed it,” Dr Amati continues. “Our gut microbes produce signals that tell the brain we are satisfied; but only if we give them the fibre-rich, plant-diverse food they need to do so. GRUBBY’s recipes are built exactly around this principle, which is why the ZOE-approved scores speak for themselves.”

Martin Holden-White, founder of GRUBBY: “We’ve always believed that plant-based food can be the most exciting choice on the table, without any degree of compromise. Working alongside ZOE, Professor Tim Spector, and Dr Amati has allowed us to back that up with real substance and deliver incredibly flavourful, nutrient-packed dishes all powered by the cutting-edge gut health science ZOE has pioneered.”

Dr Federica Amati, Head of Nutrition Science at ZOE and author of The Appetite Reset: “We are living through a genuine food revolution, and the science is clear on what supports a healthy gut microbiome and a naturally regulated appetite. What I love about GRUBBY is that they lead with flavour and let the nutrition be the clever bonus. That is the most effective way to get more people eating more plants, more often – through delicious, nutritious meals.”

The collection spans eight meal kits across two weeks, plus three pre-prepared meals available throughout — each delivering at least 14g of fibre, 7+ plant points, and substantial protein from whole food sources.
