Howdah expands globally with launches in Costco US and Jumbo Netherlands

Howdah, the family business that makes authentic Indian snacks, is taking its crunchy, delicious and vegan snacks global, with its first international retail listings in the United States and the Netherlands.

From early February, Howdah’s Bombay Mix will be available in 109 Costco warehouses across the Midwest, followed by the launch of its best-selling snacks in 300 Jumbo stores in the Netherlands on 24th February, 2025.

As part of its expansion into the US market, Howdah’s 454g resealable sharing bag of Bombay Mix will be available at Costco for $9.99. Costco’s strong reputation for bringing unique, high-quality products to its members made it a natural partner for Howdah’s introduction to the US.

Howdah’s expansion into 300 Jumbo stores across the Netherlands will see the launch of Tandoor Chilli Chips (130g) and Bombay Sweet Chilli (130g), priced at €2.99. The partnership aligns with Jumbo’s commitment to offering innovative, high-quality products that resonate with modern, sustainability-conscious consumers.

Commenting on the international launches Falu Shah, founder of Howdah commented: “Expanding into the US and Dutch markets isn’t just about growth – it’s about amplifying our purpose. With every new retailer, we’re not only introducing more people to the vibrant flavors of India but also increasing our ability to drive positive change. This is just the beginning of our journey to bring Howdah to more markets while staying true to our values.

We saw a fantastic opportunity for an authentic Indian snack to join Costco’s range, and their buyers were equally excited to bring Howdah to US customers. This launch is a huge milestone as we expand our footprint globally and watch this space for further retail partnerships, including potential UK opportunities!

The Netherlands has also always been a market we admire for its forward-thinking approach to food, sustainability, and giving back – values that sit at the core of Howdah. Jumbo is a trusted grocer, and this partnership allows us to share our brand story with a whole new audience.”

At the heart of Howdah’s expansion is its mission to give back with every bite. Howdah is committed to supporting education initiatives, ensuring that with every purchase, the brand contributes towards providing school meals for children in need. This global expansion allows Howdah to scale its impact, reaching more communities worldwide.

As Howdah makes its international debut, the brand remains focused on strengthening relationships with its new retail partners and supporting its growth through targeted marketing, deep consumer insights, and expanding into further global markets.
