Joe Browns, the fashion and homes retailer, has announced the opening date of a new store at the city’s White Rose Shopping Centre, its first store in Leeds, the hometown of the brand.

The 3,000sq ft Leeds White Rose store will have its grand opening on Saturday 2 December 2023 and will showcase to shoppers the very best the retailer has to offer across womenswear, menswear, and home.

As you would expect, the shop fit has an eclectic and unique approach to retail making it a standout out space within the White Rose Shopping Centre.

Focussed round a central pergola, rich tones of purple, teal and deep blues create the perfect backdrop for Joe Browns collections alongside neon slogans such as ‘Be Remarkable’, all bringing the retailers ethos to life.

Customers won’t be stuck for choice as the Joe Browns White Rose store will carry 400 lines.

The new store, previously occupied by Paperchase, will create 14 new jobs with a range of roles available.

Peter Alecock, CEO, Joe Browns said: “We are thrilled to be unveiling a new store in our home city.  The White Rose Shopping Centre is a fantastic location to showcase the very best we have to offer across fashion and home. As with our other stores, we’ve put all our effort into ensuring visitors feel intrigued, interested and inspired once they cross our threshold.

“We cannot think of a better way to celebrate our 25th anniversary and look forward to welcoming shoppers to our first bricks and mortar store in Leeds.”

Steven Foster, Centre Director at White Rose Shopping Centre, said: “We’re excited to welcome Leeds-born fashion and homeware brand Joe Browns to White Rose, opening its doors just in time for Christmas. The new store will be a great addition to our retailer line-up, arriving with a unique and stylish offering, complete with eye-catching window dressing, which we’re sure will be a big success with our guests”.

For the grand opening, Joe Browns is looking for people called Joe and Jo to help them officially launch the store. The call is for only remarkable Joe’s or Jo’s, the local heroes who go that extra mile to help others.  The chosen ones will need to be available on the morning of 2nd December 2023 and will receive a Joe Browns outfit as a thank you.

Peter explained: “We want to use the new store opening as an opportunity to say thank you to a handful of remarkable Joe’s or Jo’s who display inspiring traits. If this sounds like someone familiar to you, we want to know so they can come down on the day to officially open the store in return for being a credit to the name”.

The Leeds store marks an exciting next chapter for the brand. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, it announced earlier this year expansion plans and is currently searching for sites for another nine new stores across the UK, completed a warehouse upgrade as well as going on TV for the first time with not one, but two ads for Autumn/Winter and Christmas.  Joe Browns also announced this month that Michael Truluck has joined as Chairman.

If people would like to nominate a remarkable Joe or Jo to open the store, they can email press@joebrowns.co.uk with details of why they or their nominee are No Ordinary Joe no later than Wednesday 29 November 2023.

For those interested in joining the Joe Browns team, information about job opportunities can be found on the company’s website https://www.joebrowns.co.uk/jobs.

Leeds will become the fourth Joe Browns store.  The other three can be found in York, Sheffield and Bowness on Windermere.
