Kerrygold is set to build upon its successful entry into the cream cheese category with the introduction of a new Kerrygold Cream Cheese with Garlic & Herb and the securing of enhanced distribution. The new variant will complement Kerrygold Cream Cheese – Natural launched in April which has proven to be a real winner with shoppers who have loved its creamy, rich, indulgent flavour and smooth texture.

The new Kerrygold Cream Cheese with Garlic & Herb blends rich cream from Irish grass-fed cows with garlic and herbs for a superb tasting savoury twist and is perfect for spreading, dipping or stirring into a range of dishes.  It will start appearing alongside the Natural variant in Sainsbury’s from mid-September. While from mid-October both Kerrygold Cream Cheese – Natural and Garlic & Herb will be listed for the first time in Tesco stores across the UK. The addition to the Kerrygold Cream Cheese range and enhanced distribution will help drive further growth in sales frequency and household penetration.

Kerrygold Cream Cheese sales will be boosted by a multi-platform campaign aligned with Kerrygold’s global ‘Make It Gold’ campaign. Activity will include above the line targeted Digital Advertising featuring a new ‘Make it Gold’ cream cheese advert, experiential activity led by Kerrygold Brand Ambassador and Irish chef Lee Tiernan – the culinary trailblazer behind London’s acclaimed Black Axe Mangal – and extensive in-store shopper and promotional activity to convert awareness into purchase.

Commenting on the launch of new the Kerrygold Cream Cheese Garlic & Herb, Lucy Hay, Kerrygold UK senior brand manager, said: “The launch of Kerrygold Cream Cheese in the UK is proving to be a real success attracting new shoppers into the cream cheese category and contributing to its ongoing expansion. By leveraging Kerrygold’s values of naturalness, simplicity and demonstrable provenance, we believe we’re setting ‘the new Gold Standard in cream cheese’.”

“Following the positive consumer reaction to the launch of Kerrygold Cream Cheese – Natural, the introduction of Garlic & Herb was the obvious next step. It blends rich cream from Irish grass-fed cows with garlic and herbs for a savoury twist and is perfect for spreading, dipping or stirring onto your favourite dishes.”

Notes to editors:
