Kingsland Drinks and Boland Cellar enter on-trade partnership with Booker

Kingsland Drinks and Boland CellarKingsland Drinks has brokered a fresh deal between South African wine producer, Boland Cellar, and Booker to supply three of its wines into the national wholesaler.
Three Boland Cellar wines are listed in Booker branches now under the One Formation brand – a Grenache Noir (2023), a Shiraz, Viognier and Grenache red blend (2024) and a Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache Blanc white blend.
The deal will see the three wines listed in Booker’s 67 catering wholesale branches nationwide, allowing hospitality and catering outlets to expand their wine offering in the mid- to premium-tier. The wines pair beautifully with food, making them an excellent fit for food-led pubs, wine bars, restaurants, and dining venues. They’re sure to appeal to discerning drinkers seeking new and distinctive wines to discover and enjoy when out.
Kingsland Drinks is the exclusive UK importer and distributor for the One Formation range from Boland Cellar, which is based in Northern Paarl, Western Cape. Located to the north of Stellenbosch, the Paarl wine region is the home of some of the region’s most notable wineries. With its varied terroir, it produces a rich diversity of wines made with different grape varieties and blends but with distinctive character.
Boland Cellar is a large-scale, award-winning winery with a rich history, robust capabilities and a collaborative approach to winemaking. It operates over 1,900 hectares and sustainability is at the heart of the business’ ethos; it is recognised as a WWF Conservation Champion for its leading work in environmental sustainability, it focuses on water conservation, improving soil health through regenerative farming practices and is part of reforestation project, Greenpop Trees for Bees.
Andy Hoyle, wine buyer at Kingsland Drinks says: “We started working with Boland Cellar in 2024 so to see the products land in wholesale depots and hospitality venues around the UK demonstrates the hard work of our teams in bringing the brand to life for the UK market.
“Booker’s deep understanding of the on-trade sector, it’s strong networks and relationships with customers, and its reputation in drinks support our mission to bring One Formation to wine lists up and down the country. This listing will make the wines accessible to on-trade outlets and we’re confident these stand out wines will be welcomed by bartenders and operators, and their customers. We see huge potential in this partnership – not only to support Booker’s hospitality customers with high quality, sustainable, contemporary wines, but to drive interest and trial in South African wines, which are really shining at the moment.
Sophie Menegain, lead category manager at Booker, says: “South Africa offers wines of wonderful, consistent quality and incredible value for money – both of which are key for our hospitality customers and popular with consumers. Kingsland Drinks has been supportive and instrumental in bringing the One Formation wines to market and we’re thrilled to be the first wholesaler to list them. We’re keen to support producers bringing something new and exciting to the wine category and Boland Cellar’s ticked a lot for boxes for us – the wines deliver strongly on taste, quality and price point.
“Wine is a huge area of focus for our business as we look to support customers, and we launched our first Booker On-trade Wine List earlier this year. The One Formation wines have generated many enquiries and are already present on wine lists in hospitality venues across the country.”
Andy Hoyle adds: “We have a strong offering for the on-trade and independent sector with a portfolio that covers all major countries at a range of price points, as well as lower abv wines, so we’re keen to talk to outlets and wholesalers about which wines are set to win in 2026.”
