Marella and Area BMarella, the contemporary fashion brand belonging to Max Mara Fashion Group, and Area B announce their partnership for the production and distribution of Marella Beachwear – the brand’s first licence and inaugural swimwear and cover-up collection, marking Marella’s entry into this specialised distribution segment and strengthening its commercial strategy.

Area B, a Padua-based company with over 20’ experience as a licensee and manufacturer for national and international brands, will support the brand with its expertise and production and distribution capacity, whilst respecting its identity and positioning.

The collection interprets Marella’s sophisticated aesthetics through a feminine lens, translating the brand’s values of freedom and refinement into a proposal that embodies the perfect balance between confidence, lightness, and Italianness.

The brand speaks to self-confident women who are free to express themselves, celebrating their uniqueness and natural glow through garments and accessories designed to enhance their strength and sensuality. In the Marella universe, every woman finds space to consciously embrace her inner and outer beauty, through the core values of femininity, Italianness, lightness and confidence.

The collection is expected to arrive in stores in April 2027 with international distribution, and will be available online at marella.com, in the Marella stores, and through wholesale and retail channels.

MARELLA

The first Marella collection was released in Reggio Emilia in 1971. Initially conceived to offer a premium product at a more accessible price, the brand enjoyed huge success throughout the 1980s and began an independent journey within the Max Mara Group, eventually becoming a separate company on 7 January 1988.

Since December 2022 it has been part of Dedimax, a subsidiary of the Max Mara Fashion Group focused on the contemporary sector.

Marella’s success over the years is linked to its ability to always stay in tune with the lifestyle of its consumers. The brand targets confident women who are free to express their femininity, enhancing their uniqueness and natural glow through garments and accessories designed to emphasize their strength and sensuality.

Since 2014, the launch of iconic collections such as Marella ART. 365, Marella Denim, and Marella Monochrome has reinforced the brand’s ability to connect with the needs of women seeking a sophisticated yet immediate aesthetic, offering a collection of multitasking and timeless designs.

AREA B

For over 20 years, Area B has been a benchmark in the production of beachwear and underwear for major fashion and luxury brands both in Italy and abroad. The experience gained has opened opportunities in the licensing field with top-tier partners.

The company boasts a portfolio of beachwear and underwear licences with well-known brands including Palm Angels, Trussardi, Iceberg, Philipp Plein, and Bikkembergs, which it distributes in Italy and on international markets, and produces beachwear for prestigious Italian and international luxury brands.

Year after year, thanks to the reputation Area B has built over time, its roster of partners continues to grow, with increasingly significant projects and licences being acquired.

As a result of its know-how and infrastructure, Area B is able to design a collection from the initial concept phase through to delivery of the finished product, implementing recycled and eco-friendly materials in collections, as clients increasingly request.
