Midsummer Place, Milton Keynes
NewRiver has strengthened an already impressive line-up of retailers at Midsummer Place in Milton Keynes with two lettings.
Complementing the existing Midsummer Place line up, Søstrene Grene will open its first Milton Keynes in August 2026. The much-loved Danish lifestyle brand has leased a 6,329 sq ft unit on a multi-year lease. It will offer shoppers a curated selection of home décor, kitchenware, crafts and stationery.
Existing tenant, Hollister, has reconfirmed its commitment to Milton Keynes by opening its new concept store at Midsummer Place, following strong trading figures in its previous unit. Two units are being combined for the retailer to deliver a new 8,231 sq ft flagship space on a 10-year lease.
Hollister is the latest Midsummer Place tenant to invest in its Milton Keynes offer with the launch of a new concept store. Last year, Apple recommitted to Midsummer Place with its next generation store, the first in the UK outside of London – demonstrating existing tenants’ confidence in the centre.
Simon Anderson, director at NewRiver, added: “We have proactively sought to diversify the retail mix at Midsummer Place, keeping and securing fashion brands including Hollister, Zara, New Look and Frasers, while introducing exciting new offers such as Søstrene Grene. These sit well alongside the new leisure and F&B we have introduced to draw shoppers in.
“Hollsiter’s confidence in delivering its new concept is illustrative of the success of this strategy – with more lettings to be announced soon.”
The Sostrene Grene and Hollister lettings follow shortly after the announcement of two new F&B brands coming to Midsummer Place. Both Popeyes and Smoke & Pepper have recently signed their first Milton Keynes restaurants at the centre. They are completed by eight F&B pods recently introduced when the Boulevard area was revamped. These are fully let to local operators, bringing a unique mix of artisan and international cuisine. Wingstop also joined the F&B line-up at Midsummer Place last year.
The F&B is completed by recently opened leisure concepts, including Lane 7. Alongside the usual bowling and games bar offer, Lane 7 introduced rolling skating at Milton Keynes, not seen elsewhere in its portfolio. The store is the largest site in the UK and has been one of the most successful outlets for the brand since opening and has contributed to increasing dwell times and footfall at the centre.
