In celebration of ten years at the forefront of functional fitness, WIT, the specialist training brand, will exclusively launch the Nike Metcon 10 on Saturday 2nd August. To mark this milestone, WIT will unveil the WIT x Nike Training Lab in Battersea, London. A dedicated 2,000sq ft performance and retail space designed to bring together the training community for a three week long immersive experience with workouts, shopping experiences, recovery pop ups and workshops.
WIT’s relationship with Nike dates back to 2015, when WIT entered the sport, launching the original Metcon with fans driving a queue around the block at the original WIT store on Bow Lane, London. Now, 10 years later, WIT and the latest Metcon return together, evolved and ready to disrupt the industry once again.
Sam Kitching, Co-founder at WIT “Nike Metcon and WIT started their journeys in the same year, and since then we’ve grown together through a shared belief in performance training. The Nike Metcon 10 isn’t just a shoe, it’s a statement of intent. This activation puts WIT at the heart of Nike’s renewed push into performance, and we’re proud to be their partner of choice.”
The WIT x Nike Training Lab will function as both a community gym and a premium retail space with the new Metcon 10 available exclusively to buy at The Training Lab from 2nd-3rd August, and then online from 4th August on the WIT website.
The activation commences with ‘The Nike Epic Games’, a headline three day invite-only competition celebrating the community roots that defined the early days of Metcon, kicking off with the same people from the WIT community who took part in the Metcon 1 launch in 2015.
The Training Lab will then open to the public on Monday, 4th August. Classes and workshops will be released weekly, available through a booking system on the WIT website, featuring a complete calendar of programming that blends functional fitness, and hybrid training.
Highlights include appearances from Nike’s athletes, including Gabi Magala, throughout the activation, as well as a recovery lounge and workshop series by Hyperice.
“A decade in, we revisited the DNA of what makes Metcon the global standard in training footwear and obsessed the balanced system of strength that Metcon stands for: stability, grip, lockdown and mobility,” says Eric Gleason, product line manager, Nike Training. “In designing the Metrcon 10, we really streamlined the build and focused on going back to the foundation of what makes Metcon great, listening to the voices of athletes across all disciplines and intensities to create a shoe that reflects the way they train today.”
