Park Garages, ranked in the UK’s Top 10 independent forecourt retailers, has launched a refreshed store at its flagship site in Rushden, as part of a wider initiative to set a new benchmark in roadside convenience with partner Co-op Wholesale.
The flagship store, over 2,835 sq ft in size, now boasts a comprehensive supply of ambient, chilled and freezer goods from Co-op Wholesale, including food for later and food-to-go. Additionally, the store stocks Co-op own brand staples such as the popular ‘Served’ and Irresistible ranges, featuring the highly regarded pizzas and ready meals.
As part of the revamp, a new store plan has been rolled out to enhance the range and offer an improved shopper experience. Outside, the exterior of the site has new signage, boldly displaying Proud to Stock from Co-op.
The store is part of an initiative to modernise and enhance shopper experience in stores across the 80 strong Park Garages footprint, under the Proud to Stock from Co-op proposition. Over the course of the next two months, 73 more stores on Park Garages sites are due to be refreshed.
Beyond store refreshes
The partnership between Park Garages and Co-op Wholesale goes above and beyond key investment in stores; it also supports charities with important fundraising. As part of the partnership, Park Garages and Co-op Wholesale charity partner, Making a Difference Locally, have proudly donated* £500 for Denfield Park Primary School to mark the relaunch. Park Garages is committed to providing opportunities for young people and will be continuing to raise money through Making a Difference Locally to support primary schools in the areas they operate.
Sunil Tandon, managing director of Park Garages, said: “It is great to see our flagship store in Rushden open its doors with a refreshed store layout with a fantastic range for our customers to enjoy, including Co-op own brand. Co‑op’s own-brand product range is a powerhouse and it gives us the strength to win in key shopper missions. We can’t wait for our customers to start enjoying the revamped range we now offer.
“It’s also important that we have been able to support a local school as part of the launch. The team here is looking forward to being able to continue to support the local community and primary schools through Making a Difference Locally. We are committed to providing opportunities for young people in the areas we serve, and initiatives like this help ensure they have access to valuable experiences that support their development and wellbeing.”
Ian King, business development & growth director, added: “We’re in the middle of an important rollout across Park Garage sites and to see the flagship store in Rushden launch gives us tremendous pride. This collaboration is about redefining what success looks like in forecourt retail and the change we’ve seen here, truly demonstrates that. The team is already busy working on the next refits which we’re excited to reveal in due course.”
Kate Carroll, social value lead at Co-op Wholesale, said: “The partnership with Park Garages is a great example of what we can achieve together with our Making a Difference Locally fund. With these donations, we can make a real difference in young people’s lives.”
