As the year draws to a close, the iconic British hair-and-scalp-care brand Philip Kingsley is looking to the future, with the appointment of Joseph Scott Grigsby as its new chief executive officer. Grigsby joins Philip Kingsley from Virtue, a highly regarded premium haircare brand.
Founded over 60 years ago and rooted in trichology (the science of the hair and scalp), Philip Kingsley pioneered a holistic approach to haircare. It trailblazed the ‘skinification’ of hair decades before the rest of the market caught up. Its multi-award-winning products include Elasticizer, the first ever pre-shampoo hair mask. Philip Kingsley’s world-renowned trichology clinics in London and New York offer expert consultations and bespoke treatments for all manner of hair and scalp conditions. Its retail products deliver transformative results across the hair health, hair loss and scalp care categories.
Grigsby brings a wealth of brand-building insight to Philip Kingsley, with over 25 years of experience in the beauty and wellness industry. He was a founding member of Estée Lauder’s EMEA Corporate Innovation team, and held leading roles in marketing, sales, innovation and retail for Sephora EU and L’Oreal. Notably, Grigsby started his career at Wella US, growing an early interest in and understanding of hair care. He most recently spearheaded international expansion at Virtue.
