Pret A Manger Pret A Manger has today announced the launch of their brand-new lunchtime category, Super Plates, that promises to be a treat for the tastebuds. Following a rise in customer demand for larger salads, the new ‘Super Plates’ have been created to be bigger, more nutrient packed salads with new, unique flavours and premium ingredients to pack a punch. Coming in four delicious flavours: Chipotle Chicken, Butternut Mezze, Miso Salmon and Shawarma Chicken – offers something for all, the freshly made showstoppers are super-sized and packed full of flavour with every bite.

Created by Pret’s in house Head of Food and Registered Nutritionist to deliver a highly nutritious dish that doesn’t compromise on flavour, this new category launch is an evolution to Pret’s lunchtime offer. All freshly made in Pret’s kitchen by team members daily, the new Super Plates feature nine new unique premium ingredients and two product improvements including larger Golden Roasted Salmon portions for the entire salad category.

With hand-massaged kale, an umami-rich spiced Japanese style Togarashi seed topping, smoky chargrilled chickpeas bursting with flavour and Mexican inspired black bean mole, the Super Plates have been months of recipe development in the making, with a focus on using high-quality unique ingredients to ensure customers on the go can have bigger, premium and delicious freshly made food whilst on the go.

The Super Plates:

The new Chipotle Chicken Super Plate (prices starting from £10.95, 49g protein) is made up of succulent, chargrilled British chicken breast coated in chipotle and features the brand-new Mexican inspired black bean mole which is rich in fibre and protein. The mole-inspired sauce combines black beans with ancho chilli powder, ground cinnamon and cumin to create a deep, smoky flavour helping to deliver that bold Mexican flavour to this dish. This Super Plate is then accompanied with seasoned brown rice and quinoa, chargrilled red pepper and freshly sliced avocado. Salad aficionados will relish the salad’s finishing touches: pickled onion, a sprinkle of coriander, crumbled feta and a wedge of lime.

For plant-powered foodies, Pret’s Butternut Mezze Super Plate (prices starting from £9.95, 18g fibre) offers an a-mezze-ing flavour combination with a sweet and spicy medley of roasted butternut squash and chilli aubergine. Pret’s shop teams hand massage kale with lemon juice before serving alongside the brand new smoky charred chickpeas which are lightly spiced and flame-kissed creating a deep, smoky flavour giving a crispness on the outside before bursting with a chipotle warmth. The Super Plate is beautifully balanced with tangy pickled cabbage and carrot for that extra zing factor. This vegan delight is topped off with a refreshing sprinkle of mint, pomegranate seeds, and a bright lemon twist.

Bringing a taste of Japan to the lunch table, Pret’s freshly made ready-to-eat Miso Salmon Super Plate (prices starting from £12.95, 36g protein) boasts a bigger portion with more protein of Pret’s beloved Golden roasted salmon before being finished with a special Togarashi seeds. Rich in umami with a spicy kick, this new ingredient is a Japanese style spiced seeds made up of seaweed, seeds and orange zest, creating a crunchy, savoury topping. The Super Plate is accompanied by a freshly sliced avocado before accompanied by black rice and quinoa. This powerhouse combo is complemented with Tenderstem® broccoli, chilli aubergine and edamame soya beans. This new plate is supercharged with zesty lime, pickled cabbage and carrot, drizzled in Pret’s irresistible miso and orange dressing.

The Shawarma Chicken Super Plate (prices starting from £10.95, 49g protein) boasts chargrilled British chicken breast coated in Pret’s shawarma spiced sauce. Perfectly paired with the brand new smoky chickpeas and hand massaged kale, it is complemented by chargrilled red pepper and crunchy cucumber sticks to add extra crispness. This protein-packed plate is garnished with a sprinkle of mint, pomegranate seeds, pistachios, a wedge of lemon and a generous dollop of humous.
