Pringles launches mini version – and they’ll spark 2000s nostalgia

PringlesFrom mini handbags to miniature beauty products, tiny things are having a very big moment – and now one of the nation’s favourite crisp brands, Pringles®, is getting in on the trend with the launch of new Pringles Minis.

A team of food developers have spent more than four years perfecting the ultimate mini-Pringles chip, testing over 50 different versions and sizes to recreate the unmistakable Pringles crunch in bite-sized form.

The smaller the crisp, the trickier it becomes to perfect the famous Pringles hyperbolic paraboloid curve, with the team engineering a sturdier, thicker crisp with one curve that could survive being rattled around in backpacks, tossed into packed lunches and stashed in glove compartments without losing its crunch.

Classic Pringles have been part of an age-old debate around which way up you should eat them, as most seasoning is on the top. Pringles Minis, however, are seasoned on BOTH sides, meaning every tiny bite delivers an even punchier pop of flavour.

And while some fans may remember mini Pringles from the mid-2000s, this latest launch takes the crisps from its iconic tube into a bag, meaning you can finally enjoy a mini moment with Pringles in your lunchbox.

The launch comes as social media continues to fuel an obsession with all things miniature, from tiny cooking videos to mini beauty products and micro accessories. On TikTok alone, #miniature has racked up more than 1.3million posts, while #minifood has generated over 105.5k posts as people continue to embrace teeny versions of everyday favourites.

Beth Brushett, Pringles, said: “Mini products and bite-sized treats are having such a big cultural moment right now, so it felt like the perfect time to launch Pringles Minis. We’ve spent years perfecting a mini version of our iconic crisp that goes in a bag, making it the perfect addition to lunchboxes across the UK. We can’t wait to hear what Pringles fans think.’’

Landing in UK stores from 2nd July, new Pringles Minis will be available in Original, Sour Cream & Onion and BBQ flavours, with six individual 20g multipack bags perfectly sized for lunchboxes, desk drawers, handbags, glove compartments and every snacking situation imaginable.
