punchy secures national listings for its canned hydration drinks with Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Holland & Barrett, Booths and more

punchypunchy – the UK’s first-of-its-kind canned hydration drinks brand – is rolling out across major retailers this summer, bringing its real fruit, vitamin-rich wellness blends to fridges nationwide.

punchy is now available in 184 Sainsbury’s stores and 65 Waitrose sites. Its tropical Mango and citrusy Mexican Lime SKUs join its vibrant Blueberry in 26 Booths stores and will hit 750 Holland & Barrett locations from 26th May — followed by six Whole Foods and Abel & Cole stores in early June. It’s also already live in 38 SSP travel stores and 51 BP shops, with future expansion to a further 249 BPs on the cards.

It’s a landmark moment for punchy, which is reshaping the multi-billion-pound hydration market with its pioneering 330ml slimline cans: flavour-first, function-forward and low in calories. Packed with six electrolytes, essential minerals and vitamins C and D, each can is designed to support immunity, muscle function and daily energy – no caffeine, no artificial sweeteners, no compromises.

punchy’s founder, Paddy Cavanagh-Butler, says: “We’re not just breaking into big retail – we’re building a whole new category. Hydration drinks haven’t changed in years. We saw an opportunity to create something better: natural ingredients, real health benefits, great taste – and no need to pick between flavour or function. We’re proud to be stocked in some of the UK’s most forward-thinking retailers.”

With listings now spanning convenience, grocery and health retailers, punchy is proving its versatility and growing mainstream appeal.

Matt Blake, the Soft Drinks Buyer at Waitrose, says: “punchy brings something genuinely new to the category – a natural, flavour-led hydration drink that feels just as relevant in a picnic basket as it does post-workout. We’re excited to bring it to Waitrose shoppers this summer.”

The timing couldn’t be better. The global electrolyte hydration drinks market is forecast to grow from $35bn (£26bn) in 2023 to $59bn by 2032, with UK demand rising fast – and punchy is well-placed to lead the charge. Named Champion of The Grocer’s 2024 New Product & Packaging Awards in the Functional & Lifestyle Drinks category, punchy is B Corp certified, nutritionist-approved and designed for life – not just sport.

punchy’s canned hydration range includes:

NEW Mexican Lime Hydration

Bold, bright and citrusy – and new this summer

Mango Hydration

Juicy and tropical, for an extra burst of sunshine

Blueberry Hydration

Crisp, refreshing and effortlessly thirst-quenching

Product RRPs in stores: £5.50 (four-pack, Sainsbury’s); £6 (four-pack, Waitrose); £1.99 (single can, Holland & Barrett); £2( single can, Booths). All three SKUs are listed in Whole Foods, Abel & Cole and Holland & Barrett; Mango and Mexican Lime are available in Sainsbury’s and Waitrose; and Blueberry and Mexican Lime are stocked at Booths.
